SL 65 Motor Mounts
I was thinking of changing the motor mounts in my Sl65 just for the sake of it. was getting some vibration at speeds above 70. i jacked the car up to check things out. i dont see any evidence of the mounts leaking. So I'm guessing they may be ok for now. My guess is that the tires have flat spots from sitting. Question is. Will the mounts show signs of leaking if they are bad? 88K miles on it.
I don't know if they have ever been changed.

How long have you had the car? If they are going bad you will see hyrdo fluid leaking from them, if you haven't had it long and they have already gone bad and not been replaced you can crawl under the car and look at them to hopefully see hydro reisdue. If no signs of anything then they are fine and I wouldn't worry until they do let go. They are a pricey item to fix.

My left mount was leaking (you could see some fluid coming from the mount) and so the engine drop and other routine stuff was done. I don't wrench on the mounts myself, but I suspect if you don't see any fluid, its either already leaked/collapsed or you're more likely fine and can invest dollars on other remedies.

Complete engine removal along with subframe, it comes out from below. If I recall from what I was told by my indie, the mount support arms have to be loosened to get to the bolts for the motor mount which are blocked by the turbocharger housing. Good time to do pulleys, belt, plugs, etc. 20hrs labor, no big deal
