SL55 Power Steering Whine
HI! Been a member a couple years and I've seen so many people get the best advice in this forum on ABC pumps , .but I think this is a same topic differernt situation. I have a 2003 SL 55, under 70k miles, 2nd owner and I've had her a few (4) years now. 2k miles a year at most. The dreaded abc pump failure happened a couple months back. Took to my indie, told me I need new pump. I sent him a new pump , family is in business, Pump was replaced and I was told it was defective. Ordered pump through Mercedes and he replaced it again. The shop is one of the best rated places here in Miami. I have a couple buddies that swear by this places work. This was just 3 months ago. October 2021. A few days ago my steering wheel starts whining at cold start. It will eventually stop whining after the car has warmed up. Ive checked the fluid. It is fine. Checked anything I thought I can check without taking anything apart. What are the chances of me having had two defective pumps in one shot? The pump is under warranty as is the labor when I take it back. Am I missing something?. Accumulator, actuator? Air bubbles? I should add that all the ABC features are fine. Up, down, car sits just right. Ride seems to be fine (maybe just maybe a bit harder but might be in my head). What else can this be. It is ONLY when I steer. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
