altho i think that is MB's problem, driving 40 000 km in 5 months, about 8000 a month or 260 km a day is a lot for any car. u're like driving 3 quarters of a gas tank per day. I live somewhere where i go about 30-50 km and that's almost driving in morning, afternoon and evening. Where do u go with your car, across the states to work or something?

2004 SL55 AMG
Hello Strap:

First, I absolutely LOVE Madrid, Espana. Weather, seafood, diverse landscapes and especially La gente! My uncle who owns an International Law Enterprise (Mi tia es espanola) has lived there for ~40yrs.

I also own a 2004 SL55 AMG though have had no problems whatsoever interior, exterior or mechanical. I believe that you should petition the general manager /owner/principal of your dealership to make sure they take care of you. Afterall, it's a new car. Did you actually buy the vehicle new and drive 40.000 Km in 5 months? That's almost 5000 miles a month. Still, this is an AMG Mercedes and like any other well-engineered vehicle, it's meant to be driven. Besides, you have very nice highways. I imagine that you do a lot of cross country driving GT-style. Tough to get nearly that many kms around Madrid with parking and such. SL55s are probably very rare in Spain and much more expensive than in the States, so you should definitely request special attention from Mercedes to the problems you are having with your vehicle.

Great Luck!

I have had mine for almost 2 years and around 15,000 miles. I have used it as a track car, commuter car and a trip car without any problems whatsoever.

If I were you I would complain to the dealer and MB. Even though 40,000km is alot of miles for 5 months it should be able to take it.

finally already I have my car again, the problem of the smoke was by "decantador" sorry but not as it is written in English, is a piece that separates the oil of exhaust gases, no longer is white smoke in my escape, although they have returned to put to me brake discs new

Thank you
