Turning off ABS/ESP/BAS completely!

Enjoy!

Turn the ignition key to the first accessory position, making sure the dash display shows the odometer. The SRS airbag light should be on. Press the trip odometer reset button three times rapidly before the SRS light goes off. If you do this right, a screen will appear showing a voltmeter. Then press the “up” arrow on the left side of the wheel twice to take you to the “ESP dynamometer test” screen. Using the plus (+) button on the right side of the wheel, select “on”. And then start the car. Warnings will appear informing you that the ESP, ABS, and BAS (brake assist) aids are now off.

To return all the safety technology, scroll back to the dyno test screen and select “w/t. 15 off” with the minus (-) button.

Its like cheating in a video game. Left, up. up, X, X, O, O will enable cheats on your car making it invunerable to people who have no insurance.

OK OK...I guess I must be a spaz! I tried about 1/2 dozen times on my 03 SL55 and it didn't work.

I'll be off to the garage and be back with a report.....

It must be in the newer program because it did not work in my 03 SL55 or 03 E55.

"making sure the dash display shows the odometer" is done before you do the 3 button sequence

Just a thought

I managed it with the S600, but I can't do it on the 65AMG. I dunno why.

So far I have just been using the 'keyless go' card, and it hasn't worked. I'll dig up a key and try it that way....but so far, no luck.

The only way I know it to work is:

1) Must use Key
2) Be sure you dash display is on odometer
3) Be sure to press the Trip odometer button 3 tms before SRS light goes out

Anyone know different?

Using the key wasn't the key for me

I have the screen on the odometer on the left and temp on the right...and nadda!! Perhaps it is a new program for 04's and 05's.
