is this exhaust SWAP possible? PHOTO
NOT swapping the whole bumper but just the highlighted section (it looks possible) WHY? because i think it looks better!

I think you should leave it like it is! In my opinion, SL600 exhuast is worse than SL55, it looks just ugly! I am sure you dont want to be "weird car" person on the road...

Well, anything is possible. But two things that you need to aware: 1) the V12 engine should have a different piping as the V8 kompressor. It might not be just a cut and weld job; 2) the cutouts on the bumper must be enlarged

harris - appreciate the quick email response about the rims!! (benz dealer said $10,000)
hope the dual exhuast tips can just be slapped on to get a better look cause the v12 piping and sound is very nice

Look at the bumper wrap-around on the side of the tips. The whole bumper is different. You would need to shave the bottom lip further toward the corner, looks like about 1-2" on each side. The metal beam looks shorter on the SL55 as well.

Now I'm confused... The pictures have been photo-shopped but the cars are different (notice the parktronic sensors). Why did you cut and paste the exhaust area to the back of both cars? I take it these can't be to-scale.
