Windscreen

Does the windscreen on the R230 work well? Is it worth the factory $560?

It does in fact work, but I've found I hardly ever use it...

To me, it doesn't make nearly enough difference to be worth its unsightliness. Just rolling up the side windows seems to be about 80% as effective as side windows + wind screen.

Windscreen ?

Hello @ all

Are you talking about this "black metal fishnet" behind the seats to protect you against wind ?

This part is an item of the stock delivered SL here in Europe - and you guys have to pay USD 560,-- for it ??

I am using this device quite often and I am happy with this indeed.

kind regards from France

Walter

Works well for me too. If I put up all of the windows including the rear ones with the windscreen it cuts noise significantly.

Yes, it works well. I usually use it in the fall when I wanna keep the cold air out. I just rollup all the windows (including the rear) and put the screen up. It does the job of keeping the cold wind from blowing in. During the summer, I hardly use it unless I have someone in the car and I wanna talk while zipping on the highway.

Does anyone notice a difference between putting up the roll bar with the screen on vs leaving the bar down and pulling the screen up?

Rear visibility is much worse if the bar is up.

I have done that only to have it blown down by cross winds...
