Fastest Benz in the world is the F1 Pace car? Huh? What F1 races are you watching? Most F1 Pace cars are "nearly stock" AMG cars. Do you know something we don't know?

I believe they had a CLK55, CL55, SL55, SLK55 to name a few. Yes they were modified to run for extended periods at race speed but I bet none of them are straight line faster than an SL65.

Miroj,

Schiznick is right. The AMG pace cars are regular cars from the factory but have some aero and other slight modifications. They are on the stock power from what I know.

For example, the SL55 AMG F1 pace car had the F1 Aero front air damn, an F1 steering wheel in alcantera/leather, and I believe they were running a different tire. Engine components were stock.

That, and AMG took out everything related to the mechanism of the folding hard-top (and perhaps some more). I believe that saved a lot of weight.

In my opinion the only way to conclude which car is fastest is to race them at the same time and same conditions (i.e. tires) and alternating lanes. I have personally found that numbers can greatly change from location to location and day to day.

Simply stated...cut the BS and race!

And what is your best time at the drag strip?

I agree that conditions and tracks have a huge impact but without trucking my car over to Cali to run against Treynor we will have to do with time slip racing.....

So Bliss, the SL with N2O is yours. Have you had the car near T.O. in the last couple months? I swear I saw it at Conejo Auto Detail when I was getting my E55 detailed. That is just sick. Any numbers/time slips for that with the nitrous?

The car has not been timed since the N2O & headers install. In fact its never been to an official drag strip at all. The best run on a G meter is 11.72. Its hard to say what the Nitrous will do. The next mod is a methanol injection system. I will let you know the results.

I did run against a CL65 with out the N20 and we were side by side on two runs.

Yes, that was my car at Conejo detail. The guys do a great job.

And the answer to the last Q is Meridean Automotive put new painted badges on the car when all the black out was done.

Freakin' badazzzzz. An SL is probably my next benz, never had one of those. The car just rocks, tastefully modified, but not overdone. Anyway, if no time slips, have you had a dyno run done with the nitrous? Any plans to make another meet? Is that only a mild dry shot, or the "whole enchilada"? Love to see that in person.
