hey guys, got my 05 a few weeks ago, patiently waiting for the break in period to end. Unfortunately, i already had to replace a cracked rim and tire due to a fairly non hostile pot hole. Now ive driven on 19'' for the past couple of years and have never seen a wheel crack so easily. Whats the general opinion on the stock amg wheel?
On a side note, i finally found a positive in the command unit, it will play mp3 dvdr, so with 4.7 gigs sitting in the dash no need to hook up an ipod.

Wow! I didn't know that there were any pot holes in CA. Here in Indiana we're having a bumper crop. So far no problems with wheels.
Like you, I'm trying to make it through the first 1000 miles on my SL55 without "exceeding 4000 RPM, forcing a downshift", etc. etc.
How long did you have to wait for delivery?

it reads it as an mp3 cd, same screen, but the load time is about minute and a half every time the car is started.

thats the thing, it was decent size but not something i havent encountered a 100 times before with no problem on different wheels, and i wasn't doing more then 30-40, i have the stock five spokes wraped in pirrelli (stock set up).

The roads arond LA are pretty banged up, but this happened in Beverly Hills where we have some of the nicest pavement ever. Im going to submit a bill to the city, i'll let you guys know how that goes.

if the city of BH reimburses you, do let me know. I didnt think it was possible to get reimbursed by them.

City Hall are the owners and responsable for the municipality streets and the state for the highway so they has insurance but with a short limit of cover and you has to demostrate that the hole was there for long time and they get notification of that situation if they don't settle with you and you have to suit them.
