2013 SL AMG 63 questions

Just purchased a 13 SL AMG 63 with 3,675 miles on it. Black/Black with Performance pkg and all other options other than ceramic brakes. I have had a number of high performance cars over the years but have a few questions:

1. Tire pressure - door frame card states front - 48psi cold and rear - 46psi cold. This seems high in my opinion and does ride rougher than I would have thought in comfort mode - please understand the performance is great so not taking that away but just wondered if these tire pressures are correct?

2. This has the Magic Sky roof - I live in Arizona and always have put aftermarket tint on my windows - are we able to add some tint to the Magic Sky window or does the dark setting take care of that in the hot direct sun?

3. The temp gauge is in Celsius - I would have thought it would have option to change to Fahrenheit for us here in the US. I cannot find anything in the manual about changing the settings. Anyone know if there is a setting to change or just live with the Celsius scale?

Thanks! Ron

I put in 36 to 38 psi, you can tint the roof but it will always be tinted, it wont ever go lighter, it will never be clear
i think the guage is going to stay that way

Thanks - the roof having a slight tint (will go light) I think will assist with the extreme sun we have here. I will play around with the tire pressure - must be high from the factory to take car of higher speeds, etc.

sometimes those specs get lost in the translation. There are cars with run flat tires and they have different pressures, Sometimes the decal will show normal and hot pressures. if you had 42 psi the hot may be 47 psi. I dont think a dealer would air a tire to 48 psi, I think everyone would be in the 36 to 40 range

Thanks - the gas door label PSI's cold makes more sense than the drivers door frame sticker. I adjusted the pressure down to 36psi front and 34psi rear and the car now rides like it should. Doubt if I will see the 155-186 range anytime soon .....well, you never know. I also checked with my tint guy and they make a windshield tint now that is clear, but really cuts down the heat and UV coming through - that is what I am going to use on the Magic Sky panel. Ron
