Which year to buy
I am considering replacing my 2005 SL600. Which year of SL63 would you recommend to avoid known issues and get the best value?

12 sl63 with 6.3 or go to 13 with 5.5 tt, the 13s are very more advanced and updated cars. much better all around cars

I saw a 13 for sale with the performance package and 17k miles for low $60k's. That seems like a pretty sweet spot

you're not alone, I've been trying to find one w/ performance pkg w/ red or orange int. for almost 2 years!
and still couldn't find one, good luck~

Good luck with your search. I have not yet seen any with orange interiors, performance package or not. I have seen ones with red interiors, but since that is not for me, I have not investigated their options list.

Not really. I looked for quite a while to find a 2013 at this time last year. Most don't have PP and I wanted a CPO. Ended up with this:
