It is interesting that 2 people I know of have said there are individual who have this car but no pics.

Now I will say, that going through the effort to get pitures is sometimes a pain, but given the indiviuals involved, it we seem a small pice for the "kudos".

There are SL65 BLK's on the ground but not the in the United States. I know this for a fact. I don't understand the effort in trying to prove me wrong here. They have not been released.......

So the 10 they had at Laguna Seca got shipped back to Germany probably. They did have a mix of US and European cars.

The Laguna Seca cars will get scrapped. I spoke to MB distribution yesterday and they said that the launch is now pushed back until Feb. 23rd. Not sure how valid that is, so I'm waiting on a call back from AMG. I will keep you guys posted

With a drop of 381.99 points for DJIA today, I'm not surprised that the launch date being pushed back, yet again. Or maybe the AMG engineers need more time working on the minor modifications needed before the car is released for streets use in the US.

Ok guys,

I just got off the phone with the AMG project manager. He said it's a go with the SL65BLK. All the modifications are complete. They are sticking to the release date of 2/16. I will be getting an email on Thursday or Friday announcing it. He said there is a chance they may be getting loaded on transport trucks as soon as this Sunday evening

Good news. Thanks for the updates. I looking forward to getting one but I think I'll wait until summer hits. I could probably get a good deal by then.

I just got the Netstar update that the "official" release date will be Tuesday Feb. 17th. Each car will come with a custom car cover, hand made presentation box, and a signed letter from MBUSA President/CEO Ernst Lieb.

Good news, my SL Black is on it's way to my house on a flatbed right now. I have several people over, including the GM of my dealership and several employees, to help celebrate. I also have a professional photographer doing a photo shoot for the car as soon as it arrives. It's a bit dark to take a picture with my phone so I don't know if I'll be starting the new thread tonight with pics. I may wait until tomorrow morning to take good pics of the car and upload them onto my computer. If I can manage to take a few good shots of the car and am not too tired to upload them later tonight, then I will do so. If not, then just try to hang on until sometime tomorrow when I get the time.

There is one at Mercedes Benz of Sugar Land. just arrived today!! the person that was supposed to buy it was out south carolina. backed out at the last minute. so its there if anyone is interested.
