Hello !
Mine catalytic converter is also broken. Tha 230SLK is from 97 but has only 76K kilometres. Here in Norway we have to pay ap.NOK 17000 and that is more than EUR 2000. Can't afford it yet ! Any sugestions ??

This is very common. In the United States, the cats have an 80,000 mile warranty because they are part of the emissions system. Other countries do not have the same warranty, I'm afraid...

Catalytic

Mine died at 80,000 MILES - and it could have been the result of my jumping a curb and knocking it too hard.
Fortunately, Aruba (where I live) doesn't have emissions regulations, so I cut the CC out and replaced it with a straight pipe - more HP, more growl!

Mine went at 92,000k's

Swapped them out for aftermarket generic hi flow ones $800 ozzie dollars.

Aruba?? awsome!! i go to aruba every year.. sometimes for spring break, and almost always on the last week of august. im from venezuela.

yeah, my CATS went bad at 30K miles... they replaced them under warranty... which I now dont even use because of my high flow racing cats...
