SLK/R170: Some tips for a kid's SLK
You can check out a number of websites for ideas on what you can do to your car and how much it will cost. Check out performanceproducts.com , my roadster.net and clairparts.com
There are other websites but I cannot think of them at the moment. If you do not have the Sport kit on your car, you may want to consider getting the a sports kit. There is a number of options like AMG, Lorinser etc.
The mirrors with the blinking signals require wiring as well. You will have to replace the whole part including the mirror. You can probably try parts.com or ebaymotors.com
As I understand it, the 18s will reduce ride quality but performance should not deteriorate or improve. The 17s come with the AMG sport kit.
Hope this helps
For a 6 disc changer the Alpine CHM-5620 will hook up to the wire in your trunk with and adapter.
Also if your cars out of warranty find one, one repair bill and your broke, think what it must cost to fix the top.
Rim, you've already got 16", My Sport came with 17"
The CLK grille swaps in and think about changing the gear selector knob.

An exhaust won't improve power much (anywhere from 2hp to 7hp max), but it will give you a nicer sound. Eisenmann is probably the best sound and also is one of the more reasonably-priced exhaust for the SLK. Cat-back exhausts cost anywhere from $500 (Supersprint, Eisenmann) to $1300 (Brabus, RENNtech).
A "cold-air" intake probably won't buy you much, but some guys have home-made intakes they swear-by.
Forget about the blow-off valve. It does nothing for the SLK.
It's true that larger wheels and tires will hurt performance a little, unless you spend big $ on lightweight rims. When the sport package came out in the US in 1999, magazine tests pretty much proved that the stock 16-inch rims actually performed better than the AMG 17-inch rims. Don't forget that the wider/low-profile tires will wear out faster (20K miles max) and that the ride will get bumpier. It's still worthwhile upgrade for looks, though.
http://www.SLK32.com has a writeup or two on a Nav install.
Also, go search the SLK forum at www.benzworld.com.
The mirror housings from facelifted SLKs are a dealer item, but they show up on ebay every now and then.
If you keep the factory radio, you can get a CD changer to go in the trunk for under $300 from autotoys.com ('98 models only, '99 and up have fiberoptic interface cables).
Also, a cheap way to really improve the looks of the car is to have the front and rear bumper aprons sanded and painted the same color as the car, and also get a set of side skirts from an '01+ SLK and have them painted and installed.
i want the wheels on this baby.. they are amg wheels
https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...threadid=20944
about how much do they cost? 1,500 right? i've seen them around, but i hope they are not 18"s, b/c i think i was right about the downgrade in performance, b/c the slk is a small car , not like a SUV or truck.
If u can give me a link to the pulley that i need to buy that would be great.
I hope my warranty companies will offer bumper to bumper even though i modify my slk.
If i goto a car audio shop they will hook up me up with a cd changer and also probably install it for me too right? or is there something i gotta get off the web.
I looked at alot of the AMG, Lorinser body kits, they are too much money, 2,000$ for basically nothing much, i made a 1000 a day but its a waste... does springs do any good?
Thanx for answering

The wheels are 17-inch AMG one-piece Styling IV. They are the factory wheels on the SLK32 AMG and C32 AMG. They cost about $1300 from AutoClass.net or TireRack.com.
If you're really worried about the extended warranty, then don't do the mods. Period. Manufacturers have to prove a mod caused damage in order to void your warranty. That's not the case with extended warranties. I agree with Nektopoli, just don't tell them.
Springs and shocks are a good idea to improve handling. They'll also make the ride more harsh. Spring kits start at around $300, not including shocks or spring pads. Installation will cost $200 or more. If you're going to do springs and shocks, do them at the same time to save labor.
I disagree about the body kits. Unless your pre-facelift SLK is black, a body kit will make a huge improvement on how the car looks.
The MB doesnt have a CD Player only a tape deck so I was thinking about a DVD/Navigation/CD player for it, but dont know if it will "fit" in to the car.

or you can get a DIN sized screen/DVD player installed, along with a consealed Navigation unit:
K1 kit:210HP for 3060$ without taxes
K1S kit:220HP for4250$ without taxes
2.6 kit:250HP and 340Nm@2400-4650rpm for14340$ without taxes.
Does your mechanic own an SLK230 Kompressor or C230 Kompressor. My guess is he owns some other supercharged car. The pulleys are not off-the-shelf parts and I've never heard of them going for anything close to $100.
Check out this link;
http://bergwerks.com/k_pulley_upgrade.jsp
It's $599 and it installs over the OEM pulley.
