how come your brakes are bigger than all the other slk brakes? you changed them too?

that really looks like the AMG, but i'd rather it be a real one if its gonna look like one.

I have put an AMG 2 ports brake system with brake disc to replace the original front brakes. The result is significant. Braking efficiency is so high that may be I need to replace another bigger size front types to maintain the grip.

But the oringinal brakes are enough for stopping this small vehicle but the feeling when braking is not so linear. Also, the looking now is better. Agree?

Very nice discs

Well have you considered:-

- the 2001 exterior mirrors with the indicator lamps
- AMG spoiler
- and of course you can start on the interior ... GPS...DVD...brushed aluminium...

looks great, i would add a spoiler of some sort to it. Have you lowered your car? It looks lowered, but not enough... many another .5 inches...

Thanks for the comment from xyzpl.

Yes, the car is lowered. Will consider to add a spoiler too. The electric ext. mirror look great too. Emm. I will take them later.

Another .5 inches may scratch the bottom when passing through the kerbs or touch the ground of some car parks in hk. What a shame !

thats a cool car, What did you use to lower it? How much of a drop is that? What kind of pad does your car have. Hows the ride quality? Did you have to get new shocks? Thanks

I change my suspension spring(lower) and replace with Bilstein shock absorber. I have not measured how much inches dropped. It is just lowered to suit my needs. There is some more to lower may be 1-1.5 inches !

Also, have the front and rear stablizer bar installed. The ride is very firm around the corners. But, I need to abandon my Dunlop SP9000 tyres and have one size up the tyres as the limit higher now. Anyone who has suggestion on what brand and size of tyres should I have?

Concerning the barkes, I would recommend to all SLK owners ! The efficiency and the limit is so high. It can stop the car with the least effort and easily. You can feel the big difference after installed the AMG brakes. The brake pad comes with the whole set.

BEST LOOKING SLK230 I'VE EVER SEEN !!!!!!!!

the wheels make the car...

I actually think the side turn signal indicators are better, more safe, visable than the ones one the mirrors.

I agree, when I first saw that pic I thought the same thing about those Brabus beauties.

Not sure I agree with you on the side turn signals, but each to his own.

Thanks for all of the comments.

This is a 97 SLK230. I spent around US 1100 for the front brakes.
For the suspension, around US 800 with Bilstein shocks (sport version) and lowered springs.

But I think it is a little bit too hard.
Known that H&R suspension set may have better ride and comfort.

Anyone is using HR suspension set? What you comments on H&R ?

Nice, where are you loacted, I know the SLK didn't make it to the US until 1998 so I guess your not here, also where did you get the brakes, $1,100US sounds like a steal to me.

Yes, I am located in hk. Agree with you that the price of MB/AMG sounds like a steal but it is classic. This is my opinion only.

Hey lishufan, is HK = Hong Kong? If so if you ever see a blue SLK with 18" AMG Type III passing by and someone waving at you, then you know its me... hehe

BTW, very nice car.

I still don't understand. ML320 don't have 2-piston AMG brake calipers, so what brakes are those?

OK, so I ask the question again. Where did you get your brakes and what vehicle are they from?
