Lousy Website by the way

Looks like an rather unknown german Company (looking at the LicensePlate of the car) which is doing some business with exchanging Kompressors by Turbos in the SLKs.

My recommendation, if you are looking for more power, would be to check out the alternatives of Brabus, Carlsson, Kleeman or Väth. They are using the existing Kompressor.

Just check them out.....

Ok, was just an idea to keep it simple

I do not have any experience with the guys installing turbos in the SLK. Hopeully somebody else can help you out......

But again, if you are just looking for performance in the area about 350hp in the SLK there is only one option in my opinion:

AMG SLK32

But this is of course my personal opinion

If money would not count, and it should be an very powerful SLK, the BRABUS SLK 6.5 (only 6 were built) with some 450hp would be the first choice......

Renntech offer upgrades for all SLK's:

SLK230: 230hp@5300rpm (240lbs-ft@2800-4800) for $3,250. That's a 38hp increase.

SLK320: 404hp@6100rpm (410lbs-ft@4400rpm) for $22,995. That's 179hp increase.

SLK32: 450hp@5600rpm (440lbs-ft@3200-5200) call for prices. That's 101hp increase.

Renntech offer cheaper upgrades for all SLK's that result in smaller increases, I just listed their maximums.

See their website

FYI, before the SLK facelift, RENNtech offered an SLK upgrade that was a turbocharger in addition to the supercharger, plus a larger displacement. If I recall correctly, the output was around 380hp, and 0-60 was 4.2s. The price was around $38K. I believe this the engine in their "SLK RS", but they don't mention it on their website anymore.

Renntech

Curiously, the logo and picture of the RS are still on Renntech's SLK webpage
The Hagmann vsersion is actually not very new, still based on the pre2000 model, and tested by German tuner magazines in 1998 or so. I doubt that it meets US emissions standards by now but time (and hopefully a more informative website) will tell how serious Hagmann is about continuing this interesting model. The model change to R171 and M271 engine wwould require serious re-enginnering, and the AMG version is probably still cheaper, and has warranty..

OK, I dug through some old SLK information that I had archived and I found a RENNtech price list for SLK upgrades. The file is a Microsoft Word document and is dated March 16, 1998, so it's old, but it lists the following upgrades of interest.

5) 310HP @ 6200 RPM, 330 lbs-ft torque @ 3000-5400 RPM (4.7 seconds 0 to 60) 125 HP Increase, 2.3 liter, Combination of a Turbo Charger and a Supercharger, Full High Performance Exhaust, Modified Electronics, Custom Intake Manifold, Custom Piping, Ported and Polished Intake and Exhaust, Larger Intercooler and Piping, High Performance Camshaft. $22,450

6) 335HP @ 6200 RPM, 360 lbs-ft torque @ 2900-5300 RPM (4.4 seconds 0 to 60) 150 HP Increase, 2.5 liter, Combination of a Turbo Charger and a Supercharger, Full High Performance Exhaust, Modified Electronics, Custom Intake Manifold, Custom Piping, Ported and Polished Intake and Exhaust, Larger Intercooler and Piping, High Performance Camshaft. $29,950.

These are direct quotes from the document. There are no pictures and no additional information on these upgrades.

Maybe I'm wrong about this being the same engine in the SLK RS since I thought it was faster. You could always e-mail RENNtech or ask on their forum.

There is one pic of the SLK RS on the RENNtech website, but there is no information on it.

Sorry, I have no information on the Hagmann turbo upgrade. Have you tried e-mailing them? Most Germans speak English.

Hagmann

Hagmann kit and specs look (almost) identical - maybe, Renntech installed their hardware here, or vice versa, Hagmann sold Renntech's over there? I've got a 1999 AMS article as mentioned above which details Hagmann's kit. The Hagmann kit cost ~20K, then.
It is not uncommon for tuners to sell each others kits to save development costs. E.g., Väth sells components or whole kits through a number of partner businesses in Germany, Renntech, Kleemann, Lorinser, MKB etc do so in the US (although their logos always appear).

Get you facts straight next time you come up with such a claim.

I assure you, none of the MB tuners even speak to each other in Germany, I know Renntech gets a lot of engine parts from MKB,
and that's it.
Some might have the same supplier for some parts.

Lucas, take a hike

Your condescending tone and insulting remarks are getting tiring. Your "contributions" to this forum just consist og propanda for a certain tuning company, and hateful remarks about anyone and anything else that doesn't fit your personal agenda.

Sorry to step on your toes, but if I understood you right, you wrote that it's not uncommon that tuners sells eachothers kits.

Renntech buy and sell some engine parts made by MKB, Lorinser
used to buy S/C systems from Mosselmann, but doesn't any more.
KLEEMANN I know for sure doesn't supply any one with products
who are relableing or share our products with anybody else.

Thats how I understood you post, what you buy and whom you buy it from, I couldn't care less.
Don't post and spread romours of things you don't know as a fact.

Maybe, English classes would help

"Uncommon" does not mean "always", "frequently", "often" and the likes. It simply means, that something occurs a reasonably high frequency. German tuners (maybe not all, but some) do talk to each other, maybe not to you (which I can fully understand). That Vaeth products are being sold through colleagues in Germany and Switzerland I know as a fact.

For the rest of the readers: "Lucas" claims to the owner Kleemann
His outstanding contributions to civilty can be admired in the "performance" forum on a regular basis
