Anyone have any experience in get a navigation system installed after-market. Been to a fewe places and not impressed with what they are telling me. Thought I would ask the experts.

I have a Pioneer Nav that is built into an AVX P7000 heads up display unit. No problems with fit and finish.

That is sweet. Any recommendations in where to pruchase? I live in Toronto. I have an 01 SLK 320, beautiful ride!

Quick question does the display hide anywhere, or is it always fixed like that? I know the factory models flip into the dash/radio.

My setup uses a Clarion DVD (VRX925) deck with screen, and an Alpine PowerNav. It's got maps for most of Southern Alberta, and all of the GTA and Vancouver areas. Works awesome, plus I can watch movies in the car when not using Nav.

Alpine PowerNAV installed in plastic piece under glovebox. Once installed, you can not see it unless you poke your head in the foot area. Passengers feet doesn't hit the unit either, even at the track .
