Has anybody run their SLK on the 1/4 mile track yet? Just curious what times you got....

Nope - Renntech Pulley and ECU, Renntech 18"wheels and Springs. I will be putting on some drag tires which should get me in the mid 12's !

I surprise all the "muscle" cars out there.

Very nice.

I run a 15.4 with a passenger... but mine's totally stock.

I'd like to speed mine up, but I don't know the first thing about it.....

Your lucky you live in FL. - you should stop by Renntech if you are ever in West Palm.

The power upgrades made a big difference. The track I ran was in Phoenix approx. 1200ft altitute.

I've been to a track in West Palm (I didn't run) but I don't know what the track was called. We went to a huge car show there.

I really wish I knew someone around here or something that could help me with upgrades to my benz.... No one really seems to know much, or if they do, they are reluctant to help. I need to know exact parts to buy so I can upgrade and such.... but o well...

Wow, I didn't know so much was available. That is really nice. Thing that sucks is that I'd also need someone to install it.... heh

Were you at a higher elevation, really hot day or did you have a horrible 60' time? I read a test of the SLK32 and they claimed 13.0@109.

1200 feet in North Phoenix. About 80 degrees. No my 60 foot time was just at 2.0 seconds. I forgot the exact #. Main problem was the launch. Hard to get the tires to hook up. However, I was the fastest out there including a Z06 and a few Camaro SS's. They were running in the high 13's.

BTW, dont think that the cars the magazines test are the same ones you and I buy. All manufacturers send "hot" cars to be tested.

My car is also very new...only about 3K on it.

With drag tires I should be in the mid 12's.

I don't necessarily agree with that. I've been able to better the times given by the magazines. I slapped drag radials on my '01 TA and ran 12.76@110 when the car was a week old. Most magazines run mid 13s in them.

The tracks where I race are at sea level. I'll be taking my SLK32 to the track when I get it, so I'll be sure to post here when I get a few timeslips.

I agree there. How do you launch these cars? Flash the converter from idle or do you stall it up against the brake a little?
