I was thinking of buying a slk 230, but I know nothing about them except that they are made by Mercedes. My point is that I need to know how much you can do to them to make power, etc. also are they reliable, what are the main problems etc. Any info would be excellent.

Hey I appreciate all the help fellas, all the ideas you guys gave me really help a lot. I guess I will just go buy another corvette and say **** it to the mb world. Obviously I am not smart enough or rich enough to talk to all you people. Thanks for the eye opener.

Jesus christ dude with a second post like that you probably won't get any help. You realize you made your first post on here on a Friday and got pissed that nobody answered you over the weekend? Most poeple on here only post from work. I would say have some patiens but after that last post I really don't expect anybody to give you an answer.

Don't take it personally this is forum is not very active for SLK's. My 98 230 that I have owned for three years has been a great source of pleasure. I have had a few minor issues,(brake lights) but overall it has been a positive experience.
Try www.benzworld.org it is much more active and the question you asked has been addressed several times if you read through the posts. Good luck!!

Most of the mods to a Benz are on the pricey side, as I have found out especially if you are looking for a good fit and finish and a job well done. But there are many tuners out there who know what to do especially with the kompressor engine. To name a few, try looking up Kleeman, Brabus, Vaeth, Lorinser, Expression . . . and go from there. These guys have accessory kits as well as engine mods for all the SLK's. You have your work cut out for you - there is an ocean of info out there. Happy hunting!

I ask all of the dumb questions around here - and trust me I don't need any help. This forum has a good group, and even better cars (view picture thread). If you have a question, and need an expedient answer - try one of the hosts (I think).
Anyway, get in where you fit in, and happy posting.....!
