Any pre-2000 Slk 230 owner want to save $700 MAS relocation kit from Kleemann...?????
i were able to relocated the MAS and it don't even cost me a penny !!! All i need were a flat head screw driver, sand paper and a cutter. Btw, the last two pictures show i removed the grille plastic air inlet cover to create a more of "ram air" effect.

Well done Linh!!!! In addition to the great pictures could you also include a written description of each step. Do you notice any improvement in performance or throttle response with this mod. Are you going to do the Kleeman upgrade next???

Yes, i'm preparing for Kleemann $900 kit (not $1700 kit). I also send an e-mail to Brandon (an engineer) at Kleemannusa for his opinion to see if this work. As for power, i'm not sure but i do notices that by removed the grille air inlet plastic cover and the relocated of the MAS, the power is really smoooootherrrrrrrrr now!!

Nice work! Its not exactly what we provide but the results should be the same.
The pre 2000 kits have a solid alloy pulley and include a host of other parts- by relocating the MAF yourself you may have eliminated approx $300 worth of parts.

Thank you for your honest answer. I did not expect you to come out ans say that my mods will work because you would loose money for not selling the MAS relocation kit. I will definately buy Kleemann pulley kit. Thank you again.

Sorry....i totally forget about this post. I decided not to write this procedure anymore because not all people can work on car like me and after hearing one person try doing this easy mod but didn't do it right. But here's another way of doing this mod, go to the dealer and buy yourself a 2001 Slk 230 air intake, then cut it to fit the rest of all the parts from your car. You you don't understand what i am saying, just drop me an e-mail.
