AMG exhaust 2001 230 slk

I'm thinking of upgrading the exhaust on my european 230 slk mt to the AMG version when it comes to replacement. Thinking it will improve the engine note (only complaint on the car) while maybe giving it a little extra oomph... Any thoughts or experiences out there on whether it will do it/be worth it?email

Look is AWESOME, sound is ok and you will not gain any hp.

I had the AMG exhaust on my '99 SLK. Exactly what linh said. Looks great, sounds OK, doesn't add any extra power.

I will be putting on the whole supersprint system in about a month and a half. If you can wait till then I'll give you my thoughts. I am goign to use the full stainless rear section with the oval tip. I am also going to put in the perf. resonator and the header. I am looking more for performance than anything else however I do love a deep exhaust note. I grew up with most of my friends driving camaros firebirds and mustangs so a loud grumbly exhaust is music to my ears.

You can get a nice low town from an aftermarket exhaust, but you won't even come close to the grumbling of a Mustang/Camaro V8.

I know it's not goign to sounbd like a v-8. I just was referencing that I like a deep and loud exhaust and unlike some people that think a deep exhaust is unrefined I enjoy it. That's all. I have a good idea of what it will sound like. I know a bunch of guys that have a good exhaust on there imports, yeah believe it or not it is a full exhaust not some coffee can welded on the end of the stock pipe lol. Thanks for the input anyhow.
