SLK 350 Wheel Compatibility

I was curious to what other MB wheels are compatible with the new SLK 350? For example, do wheels from a SL500 fit onto a SLK 350? The reason I ask this s because when looking at wheel/rim websites many do not list the SLK 350, but do list many other MB models that their wheels are compatible with. Any advice would help, thanks!

Wheels from C-class, SLK-class R170, CLK-class will fit on a R171.

Wheels from S-class, E-class, CL-class, SL-class, CLS-class will NOT.

Harris,
My friend just received his AMG 19" Double Spoke 2-pc for SLK55. I thought those wheels were made for W211 (19x8.5 et31 and 19x9.5 et30). Wheels fit perfectly on the SLK55. Do you think we'll have problem with these wheels on an SLK55?
Thanks in advance for the answer.

He should have no problem with those wheels on a SLK55 PROVIDED he is using the lug bolts for the SLK. The bolts for the W211 will not fit on the R171 hub.

From personal experience: the standard 16" wheels from R170 (SLK320) will NOT fit on the R171 (SLK350), which requires at least 17" wheels.

Harris, is this also true for a 2003 W203 Kompressor wheels fitting the 2005 SLK? We are considering trading in the C-class for a new SLK. The wheels on my sedan are 19*8.5F 235/35 and 19*9.5R 265/30 (I don't have the offsets with me).

I know this is probably redundant, but...

Can you adapt 19" amg rims for an sl onto the slk350?

PS. There is no such thing as a dumb question; just dumb people who ask questions.

slik: the 350 comes with 17" wheels standard, thats why I didnt think of anything smaller than 17" when answering the first question.

sponger: personally, I think 19" on a SLK is a bit too big. They look nice but just too big for the car. The 230 wheels should fit the SLK (provided your 230 has the big calipers). The tire sizes are okay.

dsb: I agree there are no dumb questions. Even though its kind of redundant, I am more than happy to help out. It is not a good idea to fit SL wheels on a SLK because of hardware issue. The SL uses 14mm bolts and the SLK uses 12mm.

Harris, thanks for replying. I know what you mean, but I will get nothing for the rims if I trade the car in, and don't want to go through the hassle of selling. BTW, my C230 sedan does not have the AMG calipers. Will they still fit the 350?

If your 230 doesnt have big calipers, then it might not fit cause the 350 uses the same calipers (sizewise) as the C32/CLK500/230 sport. Your front wheels should be at least ET32 or lower in order to fit. Perhaps sell them on eBay?

Last question... well hopefully

Okay, Am I correct in thinking I mainy need to be concerned with the bolt pattern to ensure proper fitting? Of course I plan to use the OEM lug nuts on the new rims. The look I am going for is:

1) 18 or 19" rims
2) staggered with a larger lip in the rear
3) rims to extend outward slightly more the OEM rims (Although, nothing to the point I have to be concerned with rubbing the wheel well
4) Some tire/wheel combination that will fill up the space more, yet not lower the car. I already nearly scrape the bottom just pulling into my steep driveway.

BTW, What is the bolt pattern on the slk350? I currently have the AMG 5spoke 17" rims with 245/40 and 225/45.

Thanks all

All Mercedes have the same bolt pattern - 5x112. That is not an issue at all. OFFSET is the number that you should get it right.

There are very few aftermarket wheels with 18/19 (x7.5/8.5 stock sizes). Most are 18/19 (x8.5/9.5), therefore, it will make the wheels stick out a bit more.

No matter you are getting 18" or 19", the overall diameter of the tires should be very close to the stock ones. It is not possible to have 18" or 19" wheels but can fill up the fender gap more. If you want to eliminate the fender gap, you HAVE to buy a set of lowering springs. Perhaps a set of springs that will only lower the car about 1" or 3/4" such as Brabus.

C320 Coupe
I thought the C230/C320 WZs used a two pistion caliper with 13.6 inch rotors as apposed to the four piston C32/C55/SLK32 Brembo calipers?

looking to buy wheels SLK350

Hello Guys,
I am looking to buy front and rear or whole set of 4 staggered OEM wheels for SLK 350 2006. I have front and rear wheel on my car bent and cracked, so I am looking for used ones as replacement. Mine are 10 spoke, silver ones. I have attached a picture of the rims.
Thanks
