My SLK with AMG rearlip Spoiler

I would like to share with some of the members here, I know some of you don't visit the other benz forum. Here's my SLK with the AMG spoiler, Slyvania indicators, aerowings, R170 antenna, and 15% tint, more mods to come next summer, my car will be in the garage for the winter next month until spring. More pics when I get my 19" Iforged Daytonas with brabus springs.

Thanks, These are aerowings, they come standard on SLK55 but aftermarket for SLK200, 280, and 350.

Not hard at all, two screws from the bottom of each fin. Uses Torx T-20 to tighten them.

What a BEAUTY!!!!

That car is beautiful. I am in love!!!!!
I can't stop looking at it.

I noticed you still have your European license plate.
How long have you driven with it on?
Definitely a looker!!!!

What happened to front plate? I noticed two dimples
where the plate used to be. Did you do it yourself?
Good idea to get rid of the front plate. Does Colorado
require a front plate?

15% TINT? Does the car come tinted (sides, front rear??)
What is the max legal tint for each side?

You have to take more pics of your car!!!! I'm using them as
wallpaper. Hehehe

Thanks, you are not the only one that can't stop staring at it, I find myself going to the gargage and get one last look before going to sleep, still can't believe I own such a beautiful car.

It's a good converstaion starter, ppl ask about it all the time. I have been driving with it since I picked it up from my dealer on Aug. 31st. My temp. plates doesn't expire unitl Nov 3rd, so I will drive with it until then.

I took my front euro plate off a couple of weekends ago to wash the car, it looks much better so, I kept it off. The two dimples is from the screw holes. I sealed it with nylon plugs from Home Depot. I got the plugs painted the same time I painted my spoiler. On the passenger side, the hole is bigger so the nylon plug doesn't fit as well, I'll have to glue it together, I'll probably do it this weekend. Colorado does required a front plate but it's not strictly enforce. My BMW never had a front plate and I have been driving w/o one for years and never been stopped.

15% tint is illegal here in Colorado, 37% is the legal limit. My BMW has 15% tint and I've only been stopped once and told the police that it came factory tinted, he let me go with a warning. My Nissan Murano has 15%, so does my wife's MDX, never had a problem.

I will try to get some with the beautiful mountains of Colorado as the background. I haven't had a chance yet, wife, kid, work, and football season really leaves me no time to go anywhere.

Here's what my car will eventually look like, one of the member from the other forum was nice enough to photoshop my future wheels, lower the car, and painted the reflectors. Enjoy.

Yeah, that is a long time, the SLK being rear wheel drive with performance tires just isn't made for the snow. And with all the salt, gravel, and crap all over the road during the winter, it's also not the best time to enjoy the SLK so, I decided to park it until spring. I figure I can't enjoy the wheels now so why bother.

Those are similiar but not the wheels, that's DPE R07S, the ones I'm looking at are Iforged Daytonas, but I've changed my mind again. I'm looking at DCR Forged Hockenhein's now. And if I don't change my mind again, I'll probably place my order next week.

Here's what they look like, probably in Brushed Charcoal and not brushed aluminium.

So did you order them and get the $2800 price? I saw that you messaging several people on the e46 forum. I'd love to see the end result.

Those are DCR hockenhiems, DCR is a new company and will go public after SEMA Nov 1st. You can check out their wheels at www.dcrwheels.com So far they have been great, answer all my questions promptly. I don't know the quality of the wheels yet but assume that are pretty good by looking at the photos, most forged wheels are made by the same few companies anyway. Pricing, you will have to call them. PM me and I'll probably get you a better price then if you try to get it yourself.

DSB. I screwed up a little, accidently post the price, It's suppose to be confidential, that price is a little different than what I paid for. I got a different price b/c I went with a different size than original. Yes, I made my deposit and they are making it now, they said due to SEMA, I will not get it until after SEMA. I'm going for 19x8.5f and 19x10r in graphite grey w/ clearcoat. I can still change my mind, still have plenty of time, might go back to brushed. Will post pics as soon as I get it.

dude, you've gotta move to Southern Cali so you can enjoy your ride for 12 months out of a year not 6.

Actually, I'm from Northern Cal and visit SoCal almost every summer. I prefer Colorado much better. Spring and Summer weather gets boring very fast. I prefer this time of year, very beautiful cruise to the moutains and take pics of the leaves fallin with my wife. Winter is around the corner, actually it's here, everything is white outside, we already accumulated 20 inches of snow but of course most of it has melted, so there's only like 2-3 inches on the ground. I'm looking forward to winter too, get a cabin in aspen or vail with a few friends, get drunk and hang out by the hot tub outdoor all night then snowboard in the day. You get the idea, california is just too nice for me.

I don't mind not driving my car for six months, makes me appreciate it much more comes spring. It's like getting a brand new car all over again.

haha, i know what you mean... I only drive my car when im home during breaks, and feel the same way.

but how can you get sick of SoCal weather??? I'm so sick of new england weather, but maybe the weather in Colorado is better. I could never get sick of the spring/summer weather back home

I like four seasons and SoCal only has two. I like the winter for snow and obviously snowboarding. Autumn is scenic and I like that also. Too much summer and spring weather gets boring to me.

DTMCLK, those are some nice rides, 20" on an SLK, that's pretty crazy...

I like this pic, a little brighter would be nicer.
