I didn't take the Black Forest rally package- didn't want to get into too much snow. But we did go through the Black Forest on the way to France (and did have some snow). Drove 2200 miles in total- across France to Brittany, then to Belgium, Holland, and back to Germany. Mostly stayed in smaller places, but did stay two nights in Brugge.

wow that's alot of miles on your baby.
i was lucky it did not snow when i was there, although there was snow on the ground.
the drive was nice! the roads in Germany/Austria were perfect the entire way--no holes or bumps unlike here in the US.
PPL drive fast over there >100Km/h which made it difficult to break in my car.
the only bad thing was getting pulled over by unmarked police in Munich--they detained me for 1.5 hours b/c they didn't recognize the car (ie small license plates, amg kit) and my passport.
they also asked why i had the top down when it was 35F outside hehe, i tried to explain the airscarf but they didn't speak english. 
I will definitely do this again. Winter was beautiful, but Ima try spring next.

Nice report and thanks for the memories. Thanks for sharing the pictures too. We are at the Hyatt resort near Albuquerque, New Mexico headed for El Paso to attend the Sun Bowl. It is uncanny how similar the weather is here to what we experienced in Germany when there for European Delivery during the week between Christmas and New Years two years ago. Of course there is no snow, but the festive experience adds to the memories.
