Would you buy an SLK again ?
Looking at different 2 seaters for my deserving wife I would just like to know how many of you are very happy with the car and the level of service. Would you buy another one ? Looking at a 350..........
.........stupid question do they come with a 6 speed manual? I could not find a manual on the web site while I was, pretend building her car....
Thanks for the input

Definitely!
I really like what MB has done with this one and will keep it for some time. Not sure but last I looked no manual with the 350, but I haven't checked this years.

sure but...
I love my SLK, but I would definitely consider the New 3 series 4-seater hardtop convertible.
Also I am anticipating the return of the SUPRA 2-seater which may be a
hardtop convertible.
But for now...yes, can't drive it enough.

I've had my 350 since November of 2004. It's a great car. I have had zero problems with it and I would definitely buy one again. The 6 speed manual transmission is standard withe the 7G automatic as an option.

If I had it to do all over again, I would do everything the same. Euro Delivery, same set of options (especially the navigation system, which I hardly ever use here, but made our trip all through the south of France very enjoyable.)
Every day I get in this car, it gives me an emotional lift. The top goes down virtually every day, and yet I live in Seattle. (I have however, had a few close calls where I had to pull off a traffic jam on the freeway in order to get the top back up.)
15K miles. Are there things I would like to see different on the car? Sure. I wish it had Blue Tooth phone support. I wish the iPod interface would display through the Command system. I wish the command system display would indeed display something other that a big radio station number (like time, engine temp, and many of the things that you have to page through on the dash display.)
But all in all, this is one fantastic car, which is just a joy to drive.

bigSLK, I've had my SLK350 for 18 months and I have 5,100 miles on it. I'd be interested to hear how long others have owned their SLK's and how many miles they have driven their cars.

I'd buy it again, I think. I'd get the CD changer and/or something to let me play MP3 and iPod. I'd get the SLK55 if I thought I could afford it.
Since I got the SLK350, there are only a couple of cars I feel jealous about, and I'm not sure about those: BMW M3, BMW 5-series, especially M5, but obscenely expensive by my standards. And I'd like to upgrade my Volvo V70R from 1998 to 2006.
Nice car. I like it.

Sad to say, I'm in the same boat. End of June will be one year for me and I just broke 1,300 miles this month.
It's strictly a second car as my daily driver is a company SUV. Company pays for gas and insurance on the SUV and they also allow me to use it for all the personal use that I want. Not a great excuse but it's hard to jump into the SLK55 everytime I run an errand or head out to the movies or what not. Besides, with all the jokers around here that might scratch or ding it for kicks, it's just not worth it. Finally, we've had a horrible winter with rain, rain, and more rain. Just my two cents.
