Angry Ouch, cracked my front bumper

Be careful when you park. The nose sits very low to the ground. I cracked the bumper on a pretty low curve. I'm getting it fixed for $1400.

OUCH! I sort of feel your pain. My wife scrapped the bottom right side of the front bumper. Must have been a concrete parking stop. Not really noticeable, but "I" noticed it Sunday. Not worth getting painted at this time. I just hate knowing it's there.

The distance from the driver position to the nose is also longer by almost 6 inches as compared to a typical 4 door sedan. One should consider stopping the car earlier while parking and also know the back part of the car is quite short so you have plenty of "rear" room when parking.

I also feel the pain when you cracked that front bumper, like almost broke-my-nose type pain.

Depending on how it was scratched I came up with a solution when I tore my bumper. The bumper is similar in compound to my surfboards and I used some resin from my surfboard ding repair kit and sealed the tear back where it is now pretty seamless. It now appears as a hairline but is rock solid compared to being torn in two.. I'll take a picture and show you. The key was using tape to secure the pieces when drying so you get a solid bond.

OMG OMAGAGI!!

that sucks, I can feel your pain, I cracked my front lip spoiler on my bimmer and it felt horrible, but I left it off b/c it was just too low but in your case, quess you don't have a choice, it comes factory this way. I have a few scratches myself (from when they unload the car), I just ignored it for now.

I had the same problem, but smaller, and decided not to repair it just yet. I hope to cover it with some sort of club badge or something. EDD11Y

Parktronic is a must on this car. i rely on it so much and not always when I am parking. I find it particularly useful when navigating narrow underground cark parks or basically anything else that can be a squeeze for the car where you run the risk of scraping a corner of the nose.

Yikes! Okay -- I cracked my bumper 7 months into owning my beautiful Iridium SLK 350 backing out of my parking spot at the farmers' market -- ugh! Since then I've also managed to crack the corner of the nose pulling into a not-steep driveway. Considering fixing it (of course...) but decided to continue learning the "clearance" on this little gem... Thanks for sharing.

After reading all the followup replies, my conclusion is that the bumpers are flimsy for a $50K+++ car. The only folks benefitting are the ones at MB.
