Yes, you can put the top up and down from far away from the car, if you have the key. Is that what you're asking?

On another forum, people are starting to report run down batteries and other problems which may relate to the unit.

Thumbs up So far, so good.

I am happy with it. You can operate the roof while approaching/leaving the vehicle by just using the regular key fob.

There were 2 reports of probable battery failure. My guess is it's related to using the RF module many times per day. You can always check the other thread.

I've had mine for more than three weeks and am satisfied so far. Even the SL (R230)owners want one.

No problem with mine and I have had it for a Month. No battery run down problem and I use mine 3 to 4 times a day when I drive the car. I also let my car sit for 4-5 days at a time with no battery problem.

I do have a lift window up and down problem, but I don't think it is related to the module.

No problem at all, don't know how ppl live w/o it, I used it all the time and since this is not my daily driver, the SLK does sit in the garage for weeks at a time with no problem, that's the first I've heard about the battery problem, I have yet experience anything but joy. If you are thinking about getting it, don't think, just buy.

I was one of the few that have experienced a dead battery. However, it may have been caused by my Ipod. Not sure. Either way, I would still highly recommend the roof module. It is well worth the money.

Set up an account first with paypal with your credit card. This is free for individuals.

If you order from piecha.com, click shop at the top row menu, then change the last two letters on the URL from de to en, to get into the English version. Sign in or set up an account first with piecha, then order. At the end of the check out process, click paypal as your method of payment and you're all set.
The price has gone up to 317 Euros recently. Shipping is an extra 14 Euros.

It takes about 7-10 days from the date of shipping to reach the west coast. You can check the other forum for step by step pictures.

piecha module

Just do it!

I got mine in about a week and it took me just about 45 minutes to install. I have used it 3-4 times a day for the last few weeks and have had no issues or problems with it. It cost me $400 bucks US delivered. It came with very complete install directions.

I drew power on mine from the fuse box on the left side of the dash. So I bought G16 red primary wire from home depot (around $3-$5). I used the red primary wire to extend power from an MB fuse holder part (see thread at Benzworld.org). I also bought bullet/snap connectors and butt connectors (around $5 to $6) from RadioShack. These I used in conjunction with the red primary wire and to extend the ground wire from the module.

I read from several persons that the crimp supplied is hard to work with. IMHO, this is an easier way to install and by-passes the need to look for the correct red wire.

If you read the thread: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r171...mote-roof.html

The more notable pages are: 11, 18 28 and 30.

That is alot more than what I'd paid for, but it'll be worth it, I'll even pay more just for all the joy it brings.

$527? Whoa, that fuse holder is expensive. Why the increase? I paid just over $354 USD or something close. Nice features, but how much higher? Maybe a little too much positive feedback. Some one's been reading their fan mail. Nice product, high profit margin.

be careful

be careful when it comes to twisting off the canbus cover. it removes horizontally NOT vertically. i and some others snapped the D*&n thing off but it still holds closed fortunately. check the pictures and reread the numerous threads. installation would have taken 30 mins and not 3 hrs for me if that thing would have opened vertically. lol!
