What is the torque limits for the SLK200's 5-speed automatic transmission?

Am contemplating boosting the stock's 163bhp and 240Nm to 235bhp and 325Nm with the Kleemann K-2 Performance kit, new pulleys and Headers. But worried that the stock transmission (and torque convertor) might not be able to handle?

The technical guide given to us didn't mention anything either...

Thanks!

I cannot imagine a reputable company like Kleeman overlooking something as basic as this. I think you will find that it will accept the power and torque increase, otherwise Kleeman would be selling mods for that too.

I have to agree, just give Kleemann a call, they should be able to tell you.

I heard u lived in Sg rite. I used to live there for 3 years, Im in US now. A stock SLK 200 should already outrun most of the cars, but hey, the more the merrier.

Hi,

mine is a Obsidian Black with Red Seats... we should met up one day... thanks for all that writeup on the Kleemann mods... I LOVE the car even more now...

Have you timed your 0-100km/h?

What are all the mods you did to your R171? Can list them down and the approximate price you paid for?

I have not got the chance to time the 0-100 km/h. With all the mods integrated, it would be painful to realize the kind of investment we spend.

Mods ? well here it is.

1. Kleemann M271 Performance Kit.
2. Kleemann M271 Tubular exhaust
3. AMG 6 piston Calipers Front and 4 piston Calipers rear with disc rotors
4. AMG spings with shock absorbers
5. Spearco Intercooler
6. Sprint Booster
7. AMG Body Kit
8. AMG Muffler
9. Secondary High Flow Cat
10. AMG Tail light with centre brake lights
11. Thermotronic

Dyno my car today...220 hp at the crank...Torque is 337Nm.....

Looking forward to catch up with u someday..I was over at MBM last week but they told me that u left a minute before I arrived....

With our local climate, our stock intercooler does not fit into our local climate conditions......When u pulled out your stock intercooler, it is a joke

You need to reduce the temp of the intake air for better combustion...

Hi~ RSLK

I also used kleemann's performance kit and tubular exhaust almost 3 weeks ago.

BUT....I can't feel obvious power up like you.

Would you please tell me how much time does your car run from 0-100KM ?

Thanks.

Didnt time it yet but a WRX owner says my 0-100km/h is probably below 6secs and can outrun him... but he will win at 100-200km/h range...

Thank RSLK~

If you can run 0-100 around 6 secs, wow that's really fast.(according to the original car. Mine with K2+Header is just only 8.3 Secs. )

And that also means mine must go something wrong.....

RSLK, Do you change "Plug" after installing Kleemann's Products ?

yes, 8.3 is the original stock numbers ah.....

I never times 0-100 before, only test after installing.

According to my driving experiences, I just cannot feel obviously power up like you.

That's why I'm curious to know.

Plugs are like these:
http://www.globaldenso.com/PLUG/

Did you change anything else cooperating to install the kit? or just only kleamann's Kit & header, others are original stock ?

Thanks

If it's the same 5speed as in all the other Mercedes, than the limits are around 1000nm.

How much did you spend on the Kleemann stuff? Did you do it at Kelvin's too? I also did the AMG 6 pot FRT 355mm and 4 pot RR 328mm callipers... Fast cars need good brakes...

I spent about USD 4600 for K2+Header.

No, I did in kleemann dealer not kelvin's.

That means you didn't change anything when K2+Header were installed in Power Up this part.

Yes, you're right. Fast cars need good brakes very good point~
I also upgrade my braking system.
Mine is AMG 6 pot FRT 340mm & 4pot RR 330mm callipers.

Thanks
