Exclamation I need your help - Limited Slip Differential installation - Anyone have pics?

Hello.
I'm going to change my SLK 350 differential with a LSD.
The only problems I have is I need some pictures of the original differential (inside/outside) to understand what kind of differential the SLK 350 use.

Nobody knows that even Torsen and Quaife.
They both do not have any differential for SLK.
So I need to "adapt" one but without the original differential specification and measures I can't go much forward.
If you can help me anyone can then understand what kinda LSD can put under his car.

If you have ever opened the differential or you have one in your garage, I'l be happy if you could post some pictures of this and take some measurement.

Hope somebody can help me out in this.
Thank You

Can someone help me to find out how is built the SLK 350 Transmission Differential?

I'm looking for this informations:
Numbers of bolts on the Crown Wheel
and
The dimension in mm or inch of the Bearing/Crown wheel as showed in the pic I enclose
Hope someone of you have some details on this since Mercedes will not release anymore these informations.

I don't think anyone here would have done this.

BTW, why would you want to do that?

Do you know exactly what is a LSD and what benefits it bring to the car?

this is my 2 cents

When a group of fussy German engineers decided to build a SLK, they decided putting an ESP system, but no LSD. I believe their decisions because I know there is no way that I am going to out smarter than them.
I grow up with a name called “Asian riser” with all the FWD Civics/Integras. We live on the LSDs. Do I know what exactly is a LSD? Maybe not??

Would you be able to share us what the benefits that a LSD can bring to a SLK 350?

If you asked me, those might come with a LSD on a SLK 350, check engine light went off, ESP malfunction went off, transmission malfunction went off, void the warranty, re-sale nightmare or engine won’t even start (believe it or not).

Really?
So why Kleemann, Brabus, Vaeth, etc build LDS for SLK?
Please I can give you back your 2 cents if you explain me why all this Fussy German Firms all build LSD for SLK.

Maybe.

I asked you if you knew that.
But if you are shy to not answer my question well you can go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limited_slip_differential and check the benefits of the LSD, and apply them to any car you like.

Have you ever tried this on a SLK 350?
The question is neat. Yes or Not..

If yes, please go ahead tell Brabus, Kleemans, Vaet, etc why they shouldn't do that.
We all like to hear your opinion based on real fact instead of knowledge transmitted by some "Asian what?"

Remember that engine parts all all breakable, even if the LSD i'm dealing with has a lifetime warranty. But this is the fussiness of this strange Germans. What weird the world is, isn't it?

LOL !!

There is no question that LSD does benefit for the handling. The question is that “Does a SLK 350 will be benefited from it?” That I really don’t know. For answer your question, I do know enough about cars and LSDs and I do have hands on some of them myself. As we all know that MB is really not modification friendly, I just won’t do anything potentially causing more troubles.

I do not know that those aftermarket manufacturers make LSD for SLK. Only thing that I do care is why MB won’t put on the SLK 350.

For me, I am pretty happy about my SLK 350. I don’t track it, but I do drive it like I stole it (I paid for it, so as I should enjoy it). As matter as fact, I do enjoy every minute of it.

This is your car, your money, your time and your energy. You can do whatever you want to it. If SLK 350 is not enough car for you, maybe it’s time for an upgrade?

If you do successfully bolt a LSD on your slk, please let us know what’s the out come.

Enjoy your car with good health!!

Same question for any car on the market and on the earth.

If something you don't know, usually you have two way to make yourself clear:
1) Try yourself
2) Acknowledge yourself

I think you bend more for the second don't you?!

You are here for that I guess. I'm here also for that, but not only.

So why I should stop trying? Just because you think is not friendly?
Weird.
I live my life sharing my knowledge. Do you live your life warning others about their life?
Point of view.

Why don't you try to ask them?
And why don't you ask yourself why others company do instead?

I'm happy for you. So why are you here debating on my car mod or willing?

Again, I'm happy for you. But why then are you warning me?
What are your fears?

Thank You for reminding me.
I appreciate. Sometime I forget that.. You know... I'm enjoying my life and sometime important things get out of focus.

How do you call upgrade the Differential? I do call it... "Upgrade".
I know.. maybe my English is not so good, thank you for reminding me to "upgrade". I'm putting all my effort to do that.

I like you man !!
You can’t stop trying. It’s life. 100% agree !!

When I was younger (Am I that old now?), I wasted so much energy and money on modifying cars. When I looked back, I was… for the money that I spend, I could have gotten a much nicer car (ex. BMW, MB, or ….)…. That’s why I am trying to make a point and “warm” you. That’s the part that I was “sharing”. ....

I guess the Italian blood does keep you moving….

I am sorry.. did you say wife or yuu can just simply upgarde her...

SLK55 AMG
a lot of the after market LSDs are meant for the AMG version of the cars, example: C32, SLK32, C55, SLK55, CLK55, E55, SL55, CL55, E63, CLS63, etc.. high hp cars would benefit much more than a lower hp would.
