Hi All,

Pls correct me if I am wrong.
European Audio 20 have the AUX Input function.
US Spec Audio 20 DON'T have the AUX Input function.

My Question is If I got a European Audio 20, Is it a simple replacment, or actually I need to cut the wire harness to retrofit the connection.

If anyone have a picture of the US/European Audio 20 on the connector (back side of the HU) will be very helpful.

But I ask a UK used part dealer and they said the Unit will have the AUX Input display when pressing the CDC buttom down.

Does it mean they also have difference Audio 20 spec out in other than US??

Yes, MB used a different manufacture for the A20 heads used stateside. As far as I'm aware, the "non-NTG2.5, MY09" A20's never had or supported AUX input regardless of market.

Since there were two different hardware specs, I also think you'd have problems changing the channel raster to be able to tune US FM and AM stations.

Oh.. No.... I'd just ordered the unit over the weekend....

I don't listen a lot of radio (AM or FM), all I care is the AUX input. In that case, will it works for swapping the HU in terms of the CANBUS connection, wire harness, etc??

My Original idea is I don't want to wire the and upgrade to COMMAND (too costly and too much work), I don't really need the feature for the Dension gateway 500. and just keep it as simple as it is.

Any help will be appreciated,

Thanks,

I think you may be in for some heartburn. The US spec A20 head has different wiring than ROW HU's, and as I said before, I don't see any AUX input for 'em.

Let us know how it works out!

Just got the HU, it is model MF2420, P/N: A171 820 05 86
Is it the same pin out as this doc specify??

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...e-warning.html

For the US spec A20, I think the connection is as this doc (page 40) specify, I haven't take the unit out yet, But I think I would be able to
figure it out by the color-code of the wire and the multi-meter. Or if I can get the P/N: for the US spec A20 for lookup.
