Too Tall for the SLK?
Hey Guys,
I've got a 2001 c240 (38k miles), and after seeing the 05 SLK350 I've just got to have myself one! The only thing holding me back is my 6'1" height. I always laugh at tall guys in SLK's as their heads are above the roof with the top down, the look very goofy, and as if they are driving some kids power wheels. Anyone else agree? And how much do you think they will give me to trade in my c240 in fair condition?

Could you throw me a link to that review? I'm 6'2'' and was wondering the same thing.

2000 Audi S4, SLK350 on order...
You should be OK, I'm 6-3 (and a big lad) and have squeezed into two demo models...
The issue is the roof liner (plastic I assume) which is dished /concave inside, so if you are almost vertical, there is room, but with the seat reclined a little the room runs out as the roof liner curves down. I'm OK with a normal driving position, but any bumps taken at speed might translate to bumps on the back of the head. There must be no tall Germans working at MB.
There is plenty of leg room, so one answer might be to bring the seat forward a few inches.
I sat in both manual and auto seat versions in the hope the manual seats might be lower, but they both seemed the same to me.

I hover around 6 foot, and there is *lots* of room in the SLK350, and the seat has to be moved forward about 4-5 inches just to *touch* the pedals... It a huge improvement over the SLK230 or SLK320. We have a 98 and I was always having to slouch, even with the seat ALL the way back just to not hit my head.
My wife is VERY long legged and her knees would bump against the lower dash in the SLK230, but she LOVES the SLK350 with tons of leg room...
You'll love it, you'll fit it... get it!
