Help - question re power seat adjustment

I have the power seat option. I've always felt that the drivers seatback was in a too upright position for my driving comfort. Someone else on a forum complained that their seatback was rubbing against the back shelf area and causing an abrasion on the seat. I can't get my seatback to come within 6 - 8 inches of the rear shelf regardless of how I try to adjust it. The passenger seat, however, seems to work properly and I can lean the seat back to with a couple of inches of the rear shelf. The question I have is the drivers seat supposed to have this limitation by design or do I have a faulty seat? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Cool

Mine does the same thing. I noticed that when I try and push it back the lower seat moves forward then after a couple of button pushes I gave up and left it.
I thought it was me not being able to figure out the adjustment but now you got me wondering and will work on finding out an answer.

It does that to prevent you from hitting the back wall.

To move your seat back more (reclining more), lower the seat a little bit then try.

power seats

My passenger seat does that. The driver seats seems o.k. I was able to get the passenger seat back a bit further and not upright by toggling between the buttons quickly. I wonder if the tolerance can be adjusted by the dealer.

Thank you for the feedback (more)

Discovered that the ability to lean the seatback back is controlled by the heighth of the seat much more than how far forward the seat is placed. Once I lowered the seat I was able to recline the seatback into a comfortable driving position for me. The only negative is that in the "exit" posistion it now rubs against the back shelf.
