It is not a special designo combo
Just an additional choice for the body paint with a couple of different interior color options.
It is darker than your standard silver

Cool pewter color

I think we are talking of the same ****. Designo Silver is not a AMG standard color, buddy... I paid $ 1,5 k plus for it.

Pewter Silver is a new color. It became available on the SLK around March 2002 in most markets, but not until July 2002 in the USA. It does not cost extra except for the metallic paint fee.

Designo Silver is more like Champagne. It is a metallic silver with a yellow-green tint. We can get it in the USA, but it costs US$5000 because it comes as part of a package that included designo leather and wood.

HID is about a $1300 option that you can get for it.

I believe the HID headlamps are a direct swap, but they will require a load equalizing resister to draw extra current so that the computer doesn't think the headlamp bulbs are burnt out.

White is a poor color for resale on the SLK. I'm not really sure why, though.

Sapphire blue costs around $1800 extra in the USA ($700 for metallic paint and $1100 "special order" fee). The special order fee is a ripoff from MBUSA, but it's probably going away soon. I read a press release where MBUSA said that they did away with special order fees for the C-class. I guess those "younger American buyers" that MBUSA wants to attract in the aren't putting up with such gouging, especially since all of the special order colors in America are standard colors everywhere else in the world.

My Other Choice for Color is Bahama Blue.

I am still leaning towared the Pewter, but have time to change my mind.

be4 I got my slk , i was also interested in the white one , but it comes with the auto. trans. , therefore , I picked another one which i own now

recently , i m willing to trade my slk to the sapphire blue slk320 , but i quoted the price was very low for my car from MB dealer , so i decided to keep it and wait till the new model of slk :p
