Keep in mind AMGgirl that at trade in time you will be penalized for not having the OEM wheels and this could equal the full replacement costs. Aftermarket wheels are a liability for resale and trade in. If you can store them you will probably save money by not selling them now and selling your aftermarket wheels then.

True but I don't trade my cars in when it is time to get a new car. The new wheels are 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 9.5. They are awesome!

I got the wheels from Platinum Motorsports in Los Angeles. They were $4,400 shipped. The guy I dealt with was AZ. He was really nice and helpful and his price beat every other price I found. I also bought wheels for my BMW from him.

Are those 19" Style IV or 18"? If those are 19", then you've got an INCREDIBLE deal!!! I am assuming $4,400 wheels only?

AMGgirl,

Did you consider going to 19"? If you thought about it, what made you decide against it (ride, fit, etc.)?

Thanks,

JS

2006 SLK55 on order
AMGgirl

They appear very similar in appearance to 19" SL65 wheels.

Follow up questions:
- Do you remember Make & model #?
- Did your price include wheel only?
- Is finish chrome?
- Do they have Merecdes symbol center or manufacture logo?

Very interested in this style, but like you want to remain w/ 18" ride c/w 19". Thx in advance. RoadRally98

The NEW wheels I bought are the AMG Style IV 2 piece. The price was for wheels only. (I had tires already.) The finish is silver and they are 18 x 8.5 F and 18 x 9.5 R. The price for the OLD wheels that I no longer need is $1,500. No tires though I thought about 19" for my SLK but I have 20's on my SL55 and 22's on my 7 series bimmer. So I am all set with the big wheel thing. Living here in Michigan it is very stressful having large wheels because the potholes are BRUTAL! I already blew a tire on my car from hitting one about 2 weeks ago!

Haha, I wish. Birmingham is among the worst areas with potholes around my house.

If your new wheels are 18x8.5/18x9.5, then you must have got the CLK specs version. The 18x9.5 has an offset of ET18 which MB specifically made for the W209. Do you have any rubbing problems with the rear? They should stick out a lot more than what they should be. There is a 18x7.5/18x8.5 version which should be a better fit for the R171. But if you dont have any rubbing issues, the 8.5/9.5 will look more "mean".
