Is there any standard or optional equipment that will be new for 2006? I just learned that our build date for our 2006 model is last week of June. However, the salesperson is extremely unknowledgeable, and I don't really trust much of what he says. If anyone has any info I would greatly appreciate it. I want to be sure we have ordered exactly what we want.

Nothing huge, few deleted colors (Orion blue, Everest green)......Pewter is added.

If you went for either Entertainment package, a small satellite antenna will be on the trunk lid.

Yes, the prewiring for the IPOD kit is included with either Entertainment package.

Yes, there will be a SLK performance package. And there will be no SLK63.

What do you mean, like more horsepower? Headers? Camshaft? Pulleys? Stick?

Don't just write that there will be a performance package, explain what is in it. It is like someone telling you that you will have something to eat for tonight, but do you know what is going to be on the plate. A $100 T-Bone Steak or are dead rat. Get what I am saying.

Or do you mean that it is the AMG SPORTS PACKAGE, that comes with the body kit, brakes, lowered suspension, and 5 spoke wheels?


For the Ipod--- I heard it will be in some 2006 models, not all. read the Mercedes Magazine. It mentions that it will be in the 2006 ML, for the first car. I will check if it mentioned the SLK, but I am pretty sure it didn't.... What I do know is that they are going to have an ipod build kit for the 2005 models. So I am guessing they will make it an option for the 2006 model too.

Yes... I have ordered a 2006 ML500, and the IPOD integration kit is an option with pre-wiring for an MP3. My salesperson was so certain that the 2006 SLK 55 AMG would also have this, but I haven't seen it in any literature. Thanks for your insight!

We just picked up our slk55 this week. Our car came with the prewiring for the IPOD kit on it. I see the 2006 55 is going down to 17 wheels? that sucks

Hey, how come you didnt start off your reply by saying "I'm 17 yrs old and I have a SLK55....." That has always been your opening sentence.

AMG would change Headers, Camshaft, Pulleys and add Manual? Then its not an AMG anymore.

I think I know the difference between Performance package vs. Sports package. Kiddo, now take this piece of info and spread it around like you just met with the head of AMG. The SLK Performance Package is this:

1. AMG F1 steering wheel
2. Nurburgring suspension
3. AMG compound braking system (nobody seems to know what it is though)
4. 18" Style IV multi-pc wheels
5. 176pmh top speed

The AMG kit with the 17s is for the SLK350, the 55 continues with the 18in wheels.

the F1 style front bumper cover, does it not? Or is that just on the SL? I think the price is $6800 for the SLK 55.

I think its just for the SL. The SLK55 already has the side vents on the bumper.
