Well, if you're just looking to lower the car maybe look into Eibach springs?

But if you want to improve the suspension I believe KW makes their Variant 3 coilovers for the R171. So not only will you be able to lower your car, you'll be able to handle even bettter. Just remember to corner balance your car after break-in of the suspension if you do decide to get them.

The Brabus full lowering suspension kit isn't that much, like under $4,000, I think. My car has it and it handles like magic.

That's actually quite a lot cuz I believe they aren't even full coilovers. I know for other cars 4K will get you racing spec coilovers. I'm not sure how much KW-V3's cost, but V2's are at most 2k.

H and R springs are available in the US and Eibach is available in Europe only but can be imported.
Good luck!

AMG
so maybe H & R is the way to go?

I would probably choose the AMG package suspension Nurgbering (bad spelling)

is there a way to get only that option?

I'm sure that whatever they charge it will be ridiculously overpriced for maybe some stiffer springs and different valved shocks. The most economical way for lowering (what dinko wanted) is just to change the springs. I suggested the KW option because dinko seems to be quite mod happy and actually took his car to the track, so I thought he might be interested in the benefits of a full coilover system (adjustability being a main benefit) as opposed to a simple spring mod, or less adjustable systems (i.e. Carlsson, Brabus, etc.)

I just realized you had that pic thread. When I saw the pics, I made this because it seemed a little high but didn't post it. Nice decision to drop it

For strictly street use, comfort, and maybe price, the PSS9's are ok. I'm not sure if they use the same brand of parts for an R171 as they do other cars, but other than the dampers, the rest of the kit isn't up to par. But if you're just going for a lower ride and maybe slightly better handling then they'll suffice.

Car does look really low, could it go over a simple speed bump?

Dinko, no longer owns the car, I recall reading that he had Brabus springs but would rub in the rear due to his tires, he sold the springs to dsb I believe, looking back, he did have one of the best looking 55's out there. Those red calipers looks good.

Good memory. Yeah, I think he was one of the first with HRE and they probably got the offset wrong by just a few mm. He never did get it lowered the way he wanted. Of course, all is well now that he has a Gallardo SE.

Whenever you want to switch, you just let me know.
Not a tough decision... Gallardo SE vs SLK55.

PS. Post a pic here. Show these guys what you've got. I love it, color and all.

Beautiful car, I love everything about it, the lime green is outrageous just like the car itself, the interior and exterior matches perfectly. Prefer it in a manual but e-gear isn't too bad, enjoy it in good health two

Yeah Dinko, It looks superb and enjoy it in good health.

ynot, I too would get one in manual rather than e-gear. Nothing can replace the experience of driving a manual car.

I wanted Manual.. The only other I could find was on the other side of the country, and had wayyyyyy more miles. Mine had just 1k. Next Lambo will be 6 speed for sure.
