Brad,

Hopefully soon. Just been really busy with work. Maybe we should do some sort of a dyno day? What do you think? Should be nice. Let me know.

Mark setup a dyno day. I know Sun (Benzoboi) and a few others maybe Vic55 would also be interested. Set it up!

The MP90 is too small and has to be spun up to it's max RPM's to get that boost. I sold the Gen I from the E430 for that reason.
Hey Brad, I was wondering where your car was dyno'd at and were you there when it was on the drum? It seems like I'm the first person to dyno my HPS system not at Mechtech and post my results. Do you have your dyno graph, that you can post?

Here is the first dyno at Mech. Tech. that was 421 RWHP. The last one I don't have a scan of was 426 RWHP after "learning" by the ECU. Figured I'd pick up more than about 5 HP after adapting to the blower, but that was all. It hasn't been to another dyno since, but is running great (knock on wood).

Are you sure? Did you witness it?

Do you still believe in your graph after all the crap HPS pulled with other customers?

DO an independent dyno, go on www.dynojet.com. They list all their dyno sites. There should be a couple in your area.

If your car is too lean, you will end with the holes in the pistons.

Actually, 11:1 is a little rich, but still OK. I'm hoping for another dyno at a local shop next month.

11:1 is actually good for the street car with 11:1 CR and 7 psi.

Provided that is your dyno.

I do not mean to be picky, I just hope that I am wrong.

Good Luck!

Fast55, Did you witness the dyno yourself? I am curious because I did not the very first time. That was why I had it dyno'd again in my presence.

Did you see a noticeable difference on another dyno? Was it another DynoJet or a Mustang? The first 420 HP I was there for, the last one at 426 HP I did not see. I wish I had been there, I really expected to pick up more than 5 HP after the ECU learned the blower. Oh well. There's another DynoJet within 10 mins. of my house I want to take it to next month.

That's great to hear! Then the lean A/F ratio must have been the cause for the difference between my first dyno of 413.26 rwhp (I did not witness) vs. the (310rwhp at Hop and 319rwp at Mech Tech - I witnessed). Both were Dynojet Research machines. Even Jim at Mech Tech did not remember if the 413.26 was my dyno or not. He said the number appeared too high and a more reasonable number for my brand new C55 would be the high 300's up to 400rwp. If this is the case then I would have to say that HPS advertised claims are untrue.

I am having my car dyno'd again this week at HoP AND another independent dyno 1 blk away from HoP. Let's see if the 310rwhp has been corrected.

310 HP sounds like the car stock. My first unmodified dyno was 302 HP and a stock C55 should be a couple of HP higher. I don't see how your car could have pulled 310 HP with the blower no matter how lean it was???? 413 HP sounds reasonable, or a 103 RWHP increase. I know we're OT for the SLK forum, but post your next results somewhere when you get it done.

RE: Check out hps c55 dyno chart!!!

Vdoc,

First off your wrong about who's dyno is who's. HoP dyno'd "AMGSC's" C55 not SuperC55 that you are reffering to.

Here's the deal sport......... I have $1,000.00 that says you can not beat my CLK 430 at a 1/4 dragstrip with your HPS tuned CLK 430. Put up or shut up smiley. Your playing in a big boy's game now.

The TRUTH shall set you FREE!

Looks Like Josh wants to step up to the plate with a $1,000.00 for a Put up or shut up at the 1/4 track...HPS vs HOP Both with the CLK 430 systems.....

This sounds like a Great time for a GTG...
I Say Bring it on!

Car would not hold gear without downshifting, so the torque number is lower than expected. The W210 does not have a true "dyno mode" like a W211.

just to close the thread out......

HPS doctored the dyno runs.

In particular, the first dyno run was CLEARLY not a v8 with a supercharger. it looks a lot more like a wind'm up low torque engine.

AMGSC ended up with like 30 horsepower over stock, 1200 "test" miles put on
his car by HPS, and a pretty much destroyed engine and tranny.

Even though I'm not completely satisfied with the power from my HPS SC, They do cover the base engine. They are repairing a CL55 AMG motor with a blown piston free of charge right now and will be done by Friday.

Problem is...They won't refund his money for the SC saying that the 7 day return period has expired. My thought is that they just don't want to lose another customer, especially one of their most loyal customers (not me).

In the last few weeks alone, 3 HPS owners (CL55, S430 and C55) have all had their HPS Gen IIs removed. I may be next unless they redesign the whole kit (Gen III? - MP122-2.0 litre with new intake manifold, intercoolers, pumps, torque converter) etc...They have offered me free upgrades including the GEN III for allowing them to use my car for testing but I insisted that they put in writing that they will cover my entire car if anything happens.

I will call to get their answer on the coverage of my entire car tomorrow.

That's a shame. This news with the Gen II product is a loss to the MB community on a whole IMO. w/o competition, expect Kleemann to only rape MB owners more then they already do. ...Gulp, I can't wait to pay over double for headers for my car then they really should cost...
