Jeez...

Buddy - I would have gotten out and pushed for those last 2km/h!

Did you consider folding the mirrors back to reduce your CdA (Coefficient of drag vs. Frontal area)?

This is likely at that speed to reduce the drag enough for you to get there.

Alternatively you could drive with a high tailwind or downhill too!

My car arrives in one day. I'll let you know what it does when I break it in a bit!

Cheers,

Your english is better than my portugese!

You might choose to add 1 psi of air in each of your tires....

Do not be concerned about 2kmh my friend....

Travelling in excess of 180 mph is a quick way to end up in a pine box. At those speeds, the slightest mistake can be disasterous (and I assume this is on a race track - not public roads). A blown tire, road debris, a dip in the road, etc can turn you & your SLK into scrap metal.

My cars are pretty quick, but I RARELY exceed 100 mph (except on a track under controlled conditions). As you reach higher speeds, risk of damage becomes exponentially worse. You might want to slow down a bit before its too late (unless you are on a race track, of course) .

That's one of the nice things about autobahns here in Germany. Normal cruising speeds 200 kph and up as long as the weather and traffic is nice. You do need to take notice of much much more at those speeds but it's nice.

Are you asking ...

I haven't taken my SLK up to high speeds yet .. max I"ve driven is sprints around 100mph.
Personally I have taken my E55 over 150 but now that I'm older(hopefully wiser) I don't think I will be doing anything like that unless I"m on a track. Of course that is here in the states so I know nothing of the roads where you are.

I was watching a video of a modded E55 going to 190 and damn it was slow after 150.

Jesseliu- ....over 150 but now that I'm older (hopefully wiser) I don't think I will be doing anything like that unless I"m on a track.
I do all of my high-speed at the track -- and it is still dangerous, and deadly. People are crippled, and die, at the track every year - even though it is an environment specifically engineered for high speeds and to be as safe as is possible. Even if you wisely choose to do high speed in the safest environment possible you still cannot overcome the laws of physics, or the nature of the human body....
