03 Corvette Z06, soon to add SLK55 AMG
Any advice before ordering one?
Hello all, wanted to introduce myself, say thanks for all the great info I've found here already, and see if anyone had any pre-order input other than DO IT.
The lease is up this summer on my wife's CLK 430 Cabrio and I'm ready to have an AMG car in the stable. The SLK55 seems like an excellent choice. Plan to load it up w/ options 030 (perf. pkg), 319 & 326 (lighting and premium) 608 (Nav) and Illuminated door sills. Iridium silver metallic w/ the black ash two-tone. Would love for it to come w/ 400 hp out of the box but no word on whether that Euro-spec option is coming to US.
FWIW my other modes of transport are a 525-hp '03 Z06, '94 300ZX and a '05 GSXR750.

No, but it is a rare name. The few other Wes' I know are all into cars. Never been to speedbrigade before but just checked it out. Pretty cool.

Also, you may want to have all the optional accessories installed before the car is done i.e. illuminated door sills, ipod kit, etc. It's just easier that way for you in the long run, and I think you'd even save some money.

Thanks all for the good advice. I didn't know m/b had an ipod kit so will definitely get that. dinko, thanks for the offer; I know one guy at m/b in Maitland so will see what they're willing to do. May shop around though as there's a few dealerships in Central Fl.
