SLK55 MY07: Nothing much new

eMercedezBenz posted a press release from MBUSA today summarizing model updates for MY07. The release doesn't go into much detail, but it looks like the SLK55 doesn't get any significant changes.

http://www.emercedesbenz.com/May06/2...formation.html

I do believe the MY07 is getting true paddle shifters (to replace the shift buttons, which MB appears to be doing across their lineup), and they have changed the options packaging to a prem1,prem2...premX system. I also spoke to a broker today who said MB appears to be scaling back production of SLK55 a bit, as a number of dealers are getting fewer MY07 production slots than they had MY06.

I wonder what "enhanced AMG sport package" means? You're probably right about the paddle shifters. What else is it?

Good question. I assume the 280/350 AMG pkg is going to get the paddle shifters too. Beyond that, I don't know what "enhanced" means.

Well, We already know of the paddle shifters, but the CLS seems very good it will get the 382hp engine and it might get to 60mph in 5.2-5.4 seconds
The Sclass does it in 5.4-.5

Does your SL have shift buttons already? I saw an SL550 w/ AMGpkg at a dealer the other day and it has paddle shifters. You might look into whether those are compatible.
