Honestly i though it was limmited to 175. It was a SLK 55 sport. But I have a limiter on my Eclass at 130 and i've gotten it to 160. So i guesse the limiter liked me go figure

With (potential!) apologies to TommyGunn in advance... after all this is the internet...

If the implication is mph (i.e. almost 200 mph) then someone is confused.

Even with the limiter removed, a stock SLK55 (this was a loaner/rental right?) wouldn't hit that, even on a downhill run.

So, I'll give the benefit of doubt, that the whole thing is not photoshopped, and assume just the mph/kph is photoshopped out of the middle of the dial (notice how all the numbers and marks all the way around the dial are nice and visible, but somehow just the mph/kph in white letters is missing?)

Net is about 123mph.

Come on, TommyGunn, fess up!

So to answer the original question, yes I've done that (>123mph)

Like i said i though it was limited to 175. It was a loner car for my dad. I borrowed it. lol. And it was not down hill. My friend took the picture with his phone. Honestly. The car felt like a honda at those speeds. It felt like it was guna do a back flip. It was done at Flyod Bennit feild Ny. ::deserted airport:: Also the speedo can be off by 15% which if u caculate that it would bring it to 170 a proper speed for the slk.

for me it felt like there was low downforce in the front and highdown force in the back. I was stable. but it could have been MORE stable. I dident like the feel. It coulda have bin me, a result of the adreline. Go figure. but to me it felt a lil shakey. btw what highway in londen do you drive? and how do you get around all the speed camras? and how fast have you driven it?

i dont know the name but its the only highway that takes you from london to the port of dover, once you pass the borough of london and enter kent there are no more speed cameras and in london they give you warnings that there are speed cameras ahead. i usually get to 250 kph and thats the reading on the digital speedo.

Is it just me or is the fact that this shot would need to be taken basically through the steering wheel spokes while driving, or the fact that at 200MPH the car would be vibrating to a point that an image would not be this focused, or that the unlimited speed of an SLK55 with the 030 package is in the 170's that makes this shot suspicious???

i think it's BS, but assuming the photo isn't 'chopped, maybe it's a stock SLK on a dyno?

Finally... someone points out the obvious...
.. that must be a pretty good camera phone to take that picture..

I will still give the original poster the benefit of the doubt, but I'm sure everyone would appreciate it if you could respond to these allegations here! :-)

It's Photochopped...After looking closely at the image the entire center of the image has a different resolution than the edges where it has been masked....

This is a REAL photo. It was taken with a V3 on full zoom. It was done at an abondoned airstrip. I came outa a aprox 4 lane taxi way at 110MPH. I went on to the full runway and just floored the sh-t outa it. It had octain booster as its only mod, and its possiable to do it as I proved it. I will defend this post to death. I was driving it. I will stand by all my posts. The fact of the matter is that i pushed a car beyond the limits and you can't. It angers me about this. The pasanger was my gf who weighs 110 pounds and i weighed about 165 at the time. The spare tire was removed. the top was up. I enjoy the secptism. I would be one to, but there is a point that reaches narrow mindedness. I know how to push a car. I have a W210 96 E320 and I managed to push it to 160, along with smoking a m3. I dont care what you guys might think. Besides what do i have to prove by doing 200? It goes to show that i was an idiot risking 2 lives and a benz.

Speedo can be off by 15% on any speedo except Gps verification. So if it says 197mph it can be 170mph The limit of the slk.

Tommy, don't be offended by the fake pic I just posted... just adding to the humor on here.

If you really did it, then props to you... you don't have to prove it to the rest of us, because you know what you did, and that's all that matters.

We always assume the worst, because as you know, there are many posers around here... and those who are telling the truth can always withstand the worst of the attacks.

And they gain our respect.

The reason the shot came out so good is that the raod is just perfectly smooth. Its an AIR STRIP.
