Hmm, didn't you get pulled by a modded 3rd Gen RX-7? Think I saw that video of your SLK getting pulled on the Hwy on the RX-7 Forum last year?
Its OK - they are pretty quick - ask Jesse (took him for a ride in mine)

Two encounters thus far: 350z and an old civic with an exhaust.

I only got 'offered' twice. Within the first couple days of owning it, a Ferrari 360 spyder was reving from behind. I showed tremendous restraint not giving in. Don't get me wrong. I would gladly race a Ferrari 360. In fact, I think it would be very close and more of a driver's race. I simply didn't race because 1) I had about 300 miles on her and 2) my previous slk350 was returned because of oil consumption. I was damn sure that my 55 wouldn't have any problems caused by me!

The only other encounter was with a 911. It was an older model, perhaps a mid 90's model (dont know my P cars). No competition on that one.

I haven't had anyone challenge me for about 5 months now. I take it as a sign of respect.

Bmw M-3

BMW M-3.

Pulled up beside me at a stop light and had no idea what he was up against. I just shifted to Sport mode, just in case he really was serious about having some fun.

As the light changed I let him roar away and then caught and devoured him within 1/2 block (he then gave up).

lol, I know for sure that the SLK55 is faster than the M3, but from m3forum, bimmerforums, e46fanatics, and a hundred other bimmer forums out there, there's almost a post about a m3 beating a SLK55 every month. I have to put them in check. There's seems to be alot of professional drivers driving those M3's.

Anyway, alot of ppl seem to think the 'K' in SLK means Kompressor and have yet to challenge me, although alot asked me, "how fast it is" even though I don't have a SLK55

Jesseliu: with the Renntech badge, I doubt if you will get any challenges ever. Most ppl know the power of AMG.

Hey pal, its no big deal. I got pulled ever so slightly by a modded GT2 in my RX-7 once (when I was down 20 rwhp & had a passenger). Its all in good fun - no harm if you win or lose. I was just pulling your chain a little bit Buddy. See ya Dinko.

It's all good
I couldn't imagine racing that same RX-7. Last I heard the guy got more mods, plus a CF hood that saved him a lot of weight. I'm sure your RX7 is faster....

BTW, how is the SLK doing? Any problems with the s/c?

I've had a range of other drivers who want to run usually early on Sunday mornings north of Chicago, the most common are Mustang GT's and SVT's, 350 Z's, Z4's, M3's and the occasional S4.....the most fun to date was a CaymanS it was close off of the line from a start, but the SLK just kept on accelerating.......I got eaten alive by a Supra by the look and sound of it it had to be highly modfied....

So far I've been challenged by two 7 series BMWs, a debadged 3 series BMW, a Mustang GT, and various fartcan Civics. Haven't raced any of them.

996 C4, previously owned 996 c2, c32 amg, 350z, R33 GTR, R34 GTR
I have an 02 996 c2 3.6 ...315 bhp 273 lb ft
I raced a slk 55 from the lights, i fluffed my start (i should have launched with 4000rpm instead of the 2000 i did) so the car baulked before starting to pull.
The slk launched with no wheel spin and immediatelly pulled out maybe 2 car lengths, his 1st-2nd change was awesome seeeming to take no time at all, i was starting to gain slowly as we crept up to three figure before we shut down.
I was 4-up he was 2 up, we both gave the thumbs up and parted as friends!

I was very impressed with the 55 as I have spanked many cars up til now (Audi RS6 saloon, RS4 estate, 2 x M3`s). I just wish for a return match.
I will launch it properly.

As for SLK55 vs M3, the ease at which i kill euro spec M3`s points to the 55 being easily faster.

I have always like M cars and AMG cars. I would not care if I lost to anyone while driving any of these cars.

FWIW, a CF hood saves a whopping 5lbs on an FD - pretty much nothing. The cars are very light (mine is 2,700 lbs) with quite a bit of aluminum already in the car.

No issues with the S7....runs like a champ. Its pretty babied with oil changes every 3k mi & hardly ever sees over 4 - 5k rpm....doesn't need to with the mods as its accelerates pretty well. Have a good weekend Dinko.
