The car is already crazy, I had a lot of races, SL55 AMG, Porsches, Corvette C6, etc, etc.... and who is the winner?

Congratulations on your car! I think kleemann quotes 550hp for charger + ecu + headers, your dyno seems a little low. Did you just do the mods? If so, maybe the ecu is still adapting, you should dyno it again after putting 500+ miles on the car. Another possibility is that you used low octane gasoline. The highest dyno I've seen for kleemann SLK55 was 490whp, which is 580hp.
And as far as the prices, cars and parts are cheaper in the US. You can buy a used SLK55 here for $48,000 and a Lamborghini gallardo for $125,000

Ive already made 5000 miles, and did the checkout with Kleemann after 900 miles(required by Kleemann for guarante), everything was perfect, I asked Kleemann about the 596 hp (S8) and they said that it is wrong, they never had 596 hp for S8, that was something journalists had missunderstod, and you know - rumor starts, and ......
You can ask them by yourselves, give them a call, but I guess that I will have something like 550 hp and 770 Nm after cams and exhausts. Ill come back with a new Dynotest.
Yes you prices are a lot lower for used cars, but prices for Kleemannproducts?! should be the same - ok, they charge 130 $ for 1 hour work in Kleemann Denmark, and the taxes here in Sweden and Denmark is among the top in the world

Quote:
Yup, its definitely the taxes. I was just browsing the kleemann brochure and the price of the kompressor/ecu is 11,000 euros without VAT tax and 13,750 euros with tax. I believe that comes out to around $15,100 without tax and the shop charged me additional $1,000 or so to install it; for a total of $16,000 installed for the kompressor alone. Of course if you do the kompressor, LSD and tires become a necessity to help with traction, which is additional $3,700 installed for LSD and $1,000 for Michelin Pilot Cup tires (only R-compound tires I found in my sizes 235 front and 265 rear on 19's). So basically if you're supercharging an SLK55 in the US, figure on spending at least 20 grand....

True I guess... Kleemann offers Toyo tires, they work together, ref. to Claus Ankjaer (the Guru himself).Originally Posted by Addicted2Speed

So you also drive a Lotus!? nice! I have an Esprit V8 Biturbo -96.

Which Toyo tires are you referring to? I originally wanted to install Toyo Proxes RA1 tires, but they did not have correct sizes in 19's and I believe these are the only R-compound tires that Toyo makes. They also have R888, but its not available in the US. R-compounds are certainly a little "extreme" and most people would only use them on track, however, I have no problem driving daily on them Originally Posted by SLK 55 Kleemann

Nice looking Esprit you got there. I used to have a turbocharged 300hp Lotus Elise, which I unfortunately had to sell

Quote:
You are correct, there are no 19" Toyo R compound tires but the new R888's are available in the US in 18" sizes. They are the "upgraded" RA1s. I was happy with my RA1s so I cant wait to try the R888s!Originally Posted by Addicted2Speed

nice azz is- nice. I shot this pic in Bali at Nusa Dua Beach. Some people cant handle it, check the hole pic!
OK guys, here's the deal. I picked up my SLK55 last friday, but unfortunately, it is still not running right. We did the dyno and it was showing slightly under 400whp/400wtq (it supposed to be 440whp+ w/ kompressor and headers) and A/F ratio was ridiculously rich... the 100F+ temperature did not help things either. It looks like the kleemann ecu will have to be reprogrammed again too smooth out the A/F, which will hopefully take place soon. There are some other minor things that need to be worked out.
I tested the car on the highway and it pulled strong all the way to 160-170mph. I made a little video of 60-150mph roll from 3rd gear, I was not on it 100% since road conditions were not ideal (it was raining earlier). 2nd video is a 4th gear dyno pull. I'm pretty disappointed that it wasn't 440whp+ as I expected, but hopefully after the A/F and other issues are sorted out, I can get closer to my goal.

P.S. I apologize in advanced for the poor video/audio quality

Here is a much better video. This time I left the traction control on, 25-150mph. This one I thought it did pretty well, even though I had to slow down at the end....

I also tried some standing starts, but the road was damp and the car had trouble hooking up in 1st and 2nd. Here is 0-100mph, traction control off.
http://s242.photobucket.com/albums/f...t=0-100mph.flv
I can't wait to see what this car is really capable off once everything is sorted out and its making the power it should. I will definitely do some proper testing at the dragstrip and up to 190mph.

Here's the dyno... 408whp, which is about 480bhp. Torque is not showing, but its around 400 at the wheels as well. The car is running very rich, so it looks like the ecu will have to be sent to kleemann for reprogramming. Hopefully it will be over 500bhp once everything is sorted out.

410 rwhp and 442 torque. : )
