Ok did some googling at 255/35 there is only about 1% reduction on the actual speedo, IE 60 is about 59...guess that means I'd have an excuse for a ticket? Has anyone tried the Nitto Invo's? The tread pattern is pretty radical and I've read good reviews on other forums.

18s
give you a bit more choices.
so first is stick with 18 rims.
Fronts should be 235 and rears 265.
Brand would be Michelin Pilot Sport Cups. So far those have seemed to be the best in that specific size for the SLK55. Btw they were surprisingly good in the rain. Much better than I had expected considering they are a R-compound tire.
I'll keep on testing as I destroy the current tires R1s.

Anyone ever try Nitto Invo's? Crazy tread blocks. 1/2 the tire looks like a F1 tire, the other half almost a slick with some channeling for water. At $200/tire installed, I may try them in a cple thousand more miles.

20+ to list......
A friend of mine had the Invo's installed on his Mini S, and he said took him a long time before the tires are warmed, not as sticky as some others he'd used before.
SLK55R,
Thanks for the tip, so 235/40/18 & 265/35/18, correct?

Heck, it's a 260 rated tire...wouldn't imagine it would be tacky at normal operation. Of course, you could go lower and get stickier...but then you'll be replacing them all the sooner...some sooner than others depending on driving style. D#%n Schnellfahrers....
