2nd CAT delete

Anyone here taken the secondary CATS off and replaced the resonator with an x-pipe? Is there a flange after the primary but b/f the secondary CATS? What about O2 location? Any CEL issues? Usually, unless you live in Cali, you can remove the 2nd CATS w/no adverse affects on 02 readings. Just ordered the x-pipe and trying to get an idea if I want to remove the 2nd CATS as well. The one pic I saw from the underside, it looked as if the 2nd CATs were a solid piece down line from the primary CATs. Input? Anyone? It's shame there are no bolt up units after the primary CATs out there.

Resonator delete and an H pipe

installed where space available just after the cats is the best solution
H pipe yields more torque,a better sound and if you have a good exhaust shop easy to fab and cut in.

Last time I checked, X-Pipe gives more torque while h-pipe yields more hp, maybe the website I went to was wrong!? Either way, you will be happy.

Yes, xpipe going in next week, but thinking about secondary CAT delete. Can't believe no one here has tried that set up with the xpipe?? Anyone??? Are there any O2 sensor locations after the secondary CATs?? Some cars do, some don't.

Alright, I'm going to give you some info on my setup. 2nd cats are replaced with straight pipes, and x-pipe for resonator. No sensors behind second pair of cats, so no check engine light. You really need to take your car to a professional rather than any Midas, as the second cats are right after the bends. What my friend and I came up with was to remove the cats, flanges, and resonator altogether, use 2 v-band clamps right after the bends, then straight pipes, then place the x-pipe as far back as possible. A highly skilled tig welding professional is highly recommended as it's quite tricky to get everything installed leak free. Prepare to spend about 6 hrs on the job if you want quality work, worries free down the road.

So no weld after bend until the xpipe? Was wondering if you loosen the tranny mounts on the exhaust, if the pipe would drop down low enough to get a tig weld on them, or if you have pull the CATs to get it done. Trying to avoid clamps, not to mention there is a lot of welded seams bw the bend and 2nd CAT - ie, not very pretty.

Any video clips of the sound? Was wondering how much more volume/bass would come out of the pipes by the 2nd CAT delete. Thanks,

You're going to want a sound clip at WOT while the car is moving. Otherwise, you won't hear it rev past 3500-4000rpm. That makes it hard to note a significant difference. The sound definitely improves under load.

If you can wait, I'm going to have videos ready in about 2 weeks when the car comes home from Kleemann transformation.
