Just a little fun in Mexico... we were trying to do a couple runs from 45 to 120 but we had to cut it off due to traffic. I just got the car tuned recently and wanted to see how I held up against a E55 I was surprised with the results. I know he will walk me at higher speeds but in the second race I was actually very slowly pulling. Clearly with a tiny mod even a pulley he will take me but just cool to see how they stack up. I was very impressed with the tune I got the thing feels A LOT stronger like all the power was unleashed! Sorry for the BS at the beginning of the vid lol but the vid also gives you a little idea on how my car sounds the loud grumble is mine! Enjoy

there was a GB got an amazing deal on the tune! I would highly recommend anyone who is interested in a tune! It was done by a company called Speed Innovations Jesse was a very knowledgeable and he did a great time job on my car all I have ever heard was great things from people and the Mercedes Mechs at RAB!

 

You should of raced him from standstill, I raced a CLS55 and he only passed me at 110mph.

I had an ecu flash and removed the rear spare tyre and its tools.

That must really wake the car up. My E flat out raped the wifes' SLK55 while both cars were bone stock. Rolling or from a stop, it wasn't even close.

 

Yea it really did with the little mods that I have done to it the little SLK feels like a whole new car. I cant imagine what the power must feel like for the SLK guys with the SCs!

yea they will! I dont know if I am going to save up for the TT kit or go for a Turbo P-car! But none the less SI tune FTMFW!!! LOL

I haven heard of any tuner that actually produces one.

 

Someone on benzworld.org claimed he had a custom TT on his SLK55 but never really post much after saying that. So who knows.

 

VRP is currently making a kit they are also working a quad turbo for the 65!

 

When the weather cools down hit me up and a few of us bay area guys can head up to Sac for a few runs. I'm trying to get in the 11's (stock) if I can get the thing to hook up. Just let me know.

Do you know the driver of the E55?

I realize your car is lighter but the E55 should jump out more violently than this, sounded like D/C mode and too high a gear to start at 45 he should do 2nd gear. In both races I only heard 1 shift from the 55 which carried a passenger and was sleeping at the start.


I think this was 2 races you WON , but the E55 driver aided you as much as your tune did. Your car looks sik, love the sound, but Im not convinced your opposition gave it his all.

You have similar results against Jack and I will

 

Stock E55s run ~12.5 Quarters, the SLKs run ~12.7 - it's just not a big difference (which would be negated if the E was carrying a passenger, as was the case here). The outcome makes complete sense especially with the OPs small mods power mods )

 

I have seen plenty SLK55's run and E55's. Even with a passenger the E55 should slowly move away from the SLK. I guess I failed to realize the SLK had some modification. I still think the E55 was not in optimum power band.

If the OP can produce similar results against a 55 I know, I have seen, like Hammer, I will be very impressed.

suprised only a small handful of times recorded on drag times for the SLK 55,

 

E55's trap ~2 mph through the quarter mile - it's already been documented through multiple publications - it's just a pretty insignificant delta. It was also already posted via video (on 3 honks) - pretty solid proof of the aforementioned publications - we saw it on video (even the E driver & passenger acknowledged it after several pulls).

 

Yea I know the driver and before the race we both thought that he would have pulled on me. With the small mods I have it seemed to have helped me though theres not a doubt in my mind that he would have pulled me at higher speeds. Even after the race he texted me saying "What the hell your 55 aint no joke!" He def was going full throttle as he was surprised with the results. The owner is actually from Sac he came down here for the marin meet. I plan to make my way up to the strip in Sac with a couple w211 guys once I get back from NY in Dec. I have never been to the strip so I am curious and excited to see what I can run! Here are a couple pics of his ride!
