New 2009 SLK 55 AMG Owner

Hello,

I just got my first MB 2009 SLK 55 AMG and I gotta say I love it! The car is a great ride and I'm very happy I ended up choosing the AMG series.

I have a couple of questions hoping to get some assistance on.

A) The car unfortunately came without an Owners Manual, and just like an IT guy I'm looking at the nav communication and entertainment center and I'm wondering is there any update for the system? and is it something I can do or do I need to take it to the Mercedes repair center for that.

B) I tried tinkering around seeing if I can have it stream music from my iPhone using Bluetooth but couldn't is there a way to do such a thing?

C) I heard you can SuperCharge the SLK 55 AMG just out of curiousity has anyone done this before what do they think?

Thanks!
Tim

Congra !!! I love the post-2009 Slk55 updated look but I'm so disappointed that the 6/4 pots AMG brake calipers is no longer standard feature. Anyway, if you use the "search" feature in this forum by type in Kleemann supercharger, you'll get all the infos you need. And if you want to see video of kleemann SC in action, just youtube it. btw, kleemann is running SC kit for $7995 until the end of the year.

Thanks Klinh!

How about the other 2 questions? Bluetooth and updating the system (NAV/Video/Music).

I don't have an Slk yet........... and not an expert at these.

A) I don't think there's an update NAV system but Mercedes did just came out a 2011 updated NAV dvd for around $300. You can get the same updated dvd online for around $200.

B) Since you have the NAV system, you will need the cable and goes throught the NAV to activated it. You really need a User's Manual. When I bought my C350 3 months ago, the dealer went through and activated my iPhone and I were able to stream music from my iPhone using Bluetooth.

Congrats and welcome aboard!

I'm not sure of the specific functions of your 2009 R171 Command Unit, but I doubt it'll allow you to stream music from your iPhone using Bluetooth in it's stock form. I purchased this Bluetooth and Ipod Integration System from the SLKStore.com. It is expensive, but it works great! My stock Command Unit didn't come with the iPod/iPhone integration connection, but now I can stream music from most mobile devices and even Apps from my iPhone like Pandora.

Here check it out..

One more thing to check, if you have cables sticking out by the side of your cd changer then you good and just need to activate it.

Hey sorry for the delay posting back, but I wasn't aware that the system stop sending me emails after the 1st response ....

Thank you all for your comments I really appreciate them. I just dropped the car off at the dealer for Service D and see if there is a Command upgrade to do and how much it'll cost.

I'm looking at the SLKStore parts that is cool thanks!

According to their website they don't have anything compatible with anything higher than 08.

Thanks! kinda sucks I have to put it in the garage for the next 3-4 months as here in Montana it gets a bit too icey to drive a RWD, and I'd rather not go Ice skating with it.

Also, one thing I'd like to add for all those tall potential owners. I'm a 6'4" and it's comfortable to drive, I actually have more headspace than in my Jeep SUV. It is a bit snuggy and you'd feel a bit old trying to get out of the car, but it's certainly not uncomfortable.
