Mmm.

I was initially taken with the multi spokes, thought they looked much better than the SL55 efforts. The more I see them however the less I like them - I'm going for the classic 5 spokes instead - I know they're the same as the optional 200k/350 AMG factory option, but they look the best.

The 5 spoke is for the AMG SPORTS PACKAGE, if you get the SLK 55 AMG you will get the 16 spoke rims. I know you can change it, but those 16 spoke rims won't be put on any other car. So you are losing money, about 3 to 4 grand.
The 5 spoke wheels cost about $2000 and throwing away the 16 spoke rims cost about $3000.

??

Not sure why you think I'll loose money. The standard AMG 5 spoke is a no cost option, and it certainly won't affect resale as I reckon most (probably >50%) real SLK55 owners want the 5 spokes - I do!!

I would go for the SLK55 multispokes. Having seen 55s with both 16 spokes and AMG 5 spokes I dont think the AMG 5 spokes look different enough to the optional non-AMG 5 spokes for the 200/350.

I don't like the standard wheels at all. In fact, if the 18" 5 spokes weren't available as a no cost option, I probably wouldn't have ordered the car.

Yes I'm considering an SLK 55 for my wife and would sell the Smart Roadster. Final decision not made yet as I'm concerned it is only currently available with the 7 speed auto. But it looks stunning and I think far better value than a 350. If a manual was available, decision would have been made.

The SLK55 couldnt come close to being a replacement for the SL55.

One question. Is there an option for getting the AMG twin spoke wheels? Cuz I think that beats everything
