Hello All,
Anybody get the extended warranty for the SLK55? If you did how much was it? I was told if you do not get the extended warranty at the time of purchase, it can not be purchased later. True or False?
Thanks

False.
It is my understanding that the extended warranty has to be purchased during the first year of ownership, not at the time of purchase only. You should do a search on "extended warranty" because their is a person by the name of Lisa ??? who sells MB extended warranties at a very competitive price out of Chico, CA.

AMG Warranty more expensive
OK, I purchased the for $3910 @ Rusnak Arcadia for an additional 3/50000. The orig warranty is 4/50000 so the warranty now is 7/100000. I saw his price list the AMG are just about doubled. IE SLK350 for the same coverage is $2050. My thought process was better safe than sorry.

Hey cjmegha, I've got news for you. Factory warranty is 4 yrs/50k. If you buy an extended warranty of 3yrs/50k it does NOT mean you have a 7yr/100k warranty. The extended kicks in when the factory warranty runs out. For example, if you were to drive 51k miles in the first 3 months of ownership and have a "warranty type repair" you will now officially be out of factory warranty and the Extended Warranty now kicks in which would end in 3 yrs so the effective total warranty period in this example could end up totaling 3yrs 3months. Not a lot of owners are aware of this.

My dealer messed up and kept sending me different copies of my extended warranty - 2 with different prices and one for someone else completely! (an '03 S500V) When buying the car I had negotiated the price of the extended warranty down to ... [edited to delete very upset profanity ridden email of last nite :sheepish: ]
I put in a call this am and found that things are a bit different for a Pre-Owned Extended Warranty - your choices are only 1 or 2 years (fact) and the price is always higher for a used car warranty (makes sense but I'm not very trusting right now of this finance person)?
Can you really get an MB extended warranty from someone other than your dealer?
