I have those wheels..

Bought them for my Boxster last year and got many compliments. I am doing research to see if they will fit on my SLK55 (mid march delivery). To my knowledge so far the stock front tire will fit on the SSR GT3 wheel but the rear will require new tires. The biggest question is whether they will clear the calipers and rotors.

As for SSR, I understand that they filed bankruptcy but still producing wheels. I am sure the guys at tirerack will know.

Does anyone here know if these wheels will fit on the SLK55?

Cheers,

99 Boxster (selling for the SLK55 next month)

If you go thru a shop to buy them and install them, part of their job is figuring out if the wheels will fit or not, so you don't get stuck with the cost if they say they'll fit, but they don't.

Platinum Motorsports, in CA, made molds and everything to research if the Amistad wheels I have would clear the AMG calipers.

If getting them on your own, like over the internet, with what wheels cost, you may want to make darn sure they fit, like beforehand.

SSR are great wheels, but unfortunately just filed bankrupcy it will be hard to find replacements once you bend the wheels in the future.

1st: Wrong bolt pattern - 5x120 is for BMW
2nd: SSR GT3 is semi-fored, not all 3 pieces are forged.

Amistad Type R can fit ANY brakes for Mercedes (well, I am not sure about the SLR).

We just tried both Low disk and Superlow disk on a Maybach, it clears the brakes with no problem Type R can also clear Brembo GT Big Brake and Brabus brakes
