SLR/C199/R199/Z199: Worlds Quickest SLR McLaren?????
2006 SLR Mclaren
Renntech PKG 1
M/T E.T. Drag Radials (18" x 9.5" Rims)
76 Degrees, 6:46 PM
R/T .058
60' 1.606
330' 4.550
1/8 6.984
MPH 100.40
1000 9.057
1/4 10.804
MPH 128.30
This was the first pass of the evening. I was asked to NOT
make any more passes quicker than 11.50 due to non
conformance with NHRA rules for 10 second cars.
The launch was off idle....a power brake launch would have
easily taken off another tenth or more. I was not expecting
the car to Hook..hence the off idle launch.
The density altitude was about 1976' above sea level which
would also produce a quicker ET if I used a conversion but
the numbers above are from the actual ticket.
I have the ticket and a video of the run and will be posting
that tomorrow.
Thanks for reading.

OP - great run
As for hints...im always welcome to that even though I have been drag racing for about
25 years. These computerized cars take a different thought process. You can check
out my website at www.btrviper.com. I made some Vipers go pretty quick, and If I
wanted to spray this benz....it would easily lay down a 9 second time at close to 150mph.
I did have the SLR in DYNO MODE for that pass, which helps. If i could get the wing to stay down, it would go quicker and faster as that wing is putting alot of downforce and friction on the tires downtrack.
Also, that pass was from an IDLE launch. First pass on those new tires and i didn't think it would hook. Trying a 2500 rpm launch would improve the 60' time for sure.
Also, the DA was very high. Commerce is 1100' MSL on standard day. Was about 2000' on that run. Just taking it down to sea level would lower the ET by about 2 tenths.
Let me know when that track will be rented or doing an event that would be worth coming up for and I may head that way.
Thanks,
Tom

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gtl8Ohk668 SLR vs. Carrera GT. SLR = King. Hell, an LP670 SuperVeloce Lambo Murceilago lost to a SLR Mclaren 722 in a drag!
Example of SLS being slower?

SLS AMG vs. Lamborghini Gallardo LP550 Valentino Balboni. Pretty damn sure a SLR standard can take on this Lambo if the 722 can beat a LP670...
